Προσωπικά πιστεύω πως πρέπει να ξαναδούμε τι είναι ο γάμος και ποιο γάμο ζητάμε ως ομοφυλόφιλοι, όσοι τον ζητάμε. Θεωρώ πως γάμος σημαίνει ότι έχεις δίπλα σου έναν άνθρωπο κι ορκίζεσαι να τον αγαπάς κτλπ για πάντα. Κι αυτό το κάνεις μπροστά σε όποιον θες να σε δει να το κάνεις και πλέον έχεις γίνει ένα μαζί του σε ό,τι αφορά τα υπόλοιπα τυπικά και νομικά θέματα. Δε μιλάω ούτε για θρησκεία ούτε για οικογένεια. Ένα παιδί θα έπρεπε να μπορούσε να υιοθετεί οποιοσδήποτε άνθρωπος ήθελε και είχε τη δυνατότητα να του παρέχει στέγη, φαγητό και αγάπη, σαφώς ύστερα από τις σωστές εξετάσεις, άσχετα αν είναι παντρεμένος ή όχι. Τα ορφανοτροφεία και άλλα μέρη είναι γεμάτα με παιδιά που θα ήταν προτιμότερο να ζουν σε μια μονογονεϊκή οικογένεια ή με δυο ομοφυλόφιλους, παρά να γίνεται ό,τι γίνεται τώρα. Το σύμφωνο συμβίωσης ούτε ξέρω τι ακριβώς σημαίνει ούτε και θέλω να μάθω. Γάμος σημαίνει ένωση, σύζευξη και όποιος θέλει να το κάνει θα πρέπει να μπορεί να το κάνει.

The only friend I ever lost touch with for that reason is a straight school mate of mine… We could no longer put up with each other's life style and I do understand this.

It is not much different than talking about sex to a straight teenager! Be sure to let him understand that he can open up to you and maybe try to start a conversation a couple of times. He will come around eventually and ask you all the critical questions!! I wish I had such a close mentor…
