I had the same experience. I was rather lucky though. For a couple years I was scared of coming out to him but I built up the courage and told him. He didn't care. About 2 days later he comes to me and says "I think I'm gay too". I remember thinking "JACKPOT!!!" lol. I didn't push anything but one night he was stopping over at mine and asks if he can experiment on me. Before I knew it he was sucking me off and you can guess the rest… We had several of those "experiments" despite him having a serious girlfriend. No one else knew he was gay.. I hear he's married with a child now. I wonder how long that will last...

Don't push anything, if it happens naturally it happens, if not you get to keep a friend, that's win win? I would also say in the meantime just get on with your own life and don't stress about it.

I know this thread is kinda old but someone else refreshed it and that's why I noticed it.  I thought I would add a reply because when I was 14 I was in the same kind of situation but I was the teenager in question!

Basically my dad (who I've only ever met about 7 times in my life) forced my outing as he discovered my browsing history and told my mum who in turn told all my siblings and friends… I was mortified and very scared, I lost my best friend because of this (turns out she hated gays so probably for the best! :D). I actually ran away from home for several weeks but that's another story!

Anyway when I finally came back home, one day I was in my room and my older cousin walks in, apparently my mum wanted him to have a chat with me about being gay. It was one of the most awkward moments of my life. He basically said "yeah so hi, I'm your cousin and I'm gay and your mum wanted me to talk to you. I don't really know what to say so I'm just going to stand here for 10 minutes then leave. Do you have any questions?".. I replied something like "Nope". We ended up just chatting about the usual small stuff people do then he left.

As a kid I must have been thinking something like "what the fuck was my mum thinking" "that was so embarrassing" "like they haven't already told enough people"... "When I'm ready I will talk about it myself".

So I guess it did feel like invasion of privacy. It's quite hard to think back and try to remember how you felt as a teenager in such scenarios.

Here's an extra little story some might find amusing. I have 3 sisters and 1 brother. 1 of my sisters lived away from home and it turned out everyone forgot to tell her I was gay/came out. One day she phones me up to see how I am and I was like "I'm fine, I went out clubbing last night, slept with this guy I met bla bla.. other gay club talk". She says "Wait.. what? You're GAY?!". I said "I thought you knew, I thought everyone knew, didn't they tell you?" She said "No, no one's told me anything". At this point I was stammering and stressing and really worried... she could tell and quickly replied "Don't worry I don't mind, I've known you was gay ever since you was about 3 years old". lol phew  :hug:

I'd be interested to know how it went for you and your cousin. Hopefully he'll have a better experience than I did!

If the new one respects your search categories I would welcome it back, it is good for a quick overview of latest torrents and easier to spot what I've missed! Sadly the old one had scat all over it, amongst other things I find undesirable!

Okay, after some thought, I do like the idea of the change but I'm not a fan of the new browse page as it currently stands. I have 2 complaints about  it.

first: I hate hovering over a torrent and seeing something that just doesn't turn me on or that I find unsettling, like open areses. I then instantly unhover. At least with the normal "browse/search", there are sub category thumbs or descriptions which might give you some warning about the content you might see. And then it's my fault for taking the risk. With this new browse, everything is instantly dumped right in your face, big dicks, small dicks, daddies and sons, fisting, interracial etc… Having what you don't like unchecked in your profile doesn't always mean you won't see it. I'm not talking about the recent bug fix, but the fact that videos still appear under wrong categories or are hard to place under just one category and so have their "main" category set as say.. "hunks" or "bareback" but that contains "twinks" and "interracial". Whilst I understand that it's hard to decide which category something should belong in, the browse page forces you to view it all.

second: forcing a user to download so many images is never a good idea, it's bad internet etiquette and some users may have slow connections, download limits etc...

I understand where the changes are coming from but I think this first draft needs some work, if you want some sort of "recent upload" thumbnail preview, I think it might work better with fewer images, i.e the last 10 uploaded torrents (excluding ones from categories that are unchecked), and in some sort of carousel rather than a screen dump (it just looks like a bunch of random images). That way it could also be contained in a small "banner" like module and it would be easier on the eyes and the bandwidth. However the problem still remains of seeing things someone might not like. Is there a way to take into account the "sub categories" for each torrent, and filter the torrent if any of these also match anything unchecked in the profile. For example, I have "daddies and sons" unchecked but I'm still seeing torrents that have this as a sub category. It might also help to rename it from "browse" to something like "browse images" or "browse thumbnails" or "browse torrent images".

Apologies if any of this has been addressed, as it took a while to write!

I think it's some sort of stereotyping that is going on. For example Google won't display ads on a site that has adult material - presumably they think people that enjoy porn aren't interested in anything else, like clothes, holidays etc… Ebay apparently refuse to affiliate with any gay site, whether general gay interest or otherwise (unless they recently changed this policy) - they must think gay people don't want to buy things. Both are beyond stupid in this respect. And with these generic porn ads, presumably they think porn lovers like all porn or they just play it random offending gay people with straight ads and straight people with gay ads, instead of tailoring the ads to the site which would benefit everyone.

The AdBlockPlus plug-in for Firefox works for me too. I disabled the default filter as I don't want all adverts blocked, and just blocked the ones I don't want to see. It works great.

Thanks for the tip. I have checked that box, did it get auto-unchecked during an update or something? Anyway there still remains one advert amongst the picture previews for the torrent. They link to excoclick.com. (As well as the banner at the top which I don't mind because it doesn't contain vaginas!).

So any news on this yet? Why are we still seeing adverts, yet alone vaginas all over the torrent pages. I find them disturbing to be honest, I wouldn't mind as much if they were gay adverts. I have also donated.

I'm getting the same mostly blank page with the message "SYS 64738 - gtru sux !" at the top. Ftr I voted on the bi-straight poll ages ago!
