I think that the internet has been exposing the worst in people. Before the internet ppl used to get along better, but now we know everything everyone thinks (their bigotry, their oppinions, their prejudices, all the trash is there on Fb and Twitter)… so it was easier to get along with people when we didn't know they were so hateful. That's why I've been trying to keep away from social media, and when I know someone new I avoid looking for them on the internet and try to know the less I can about their virtual life.
