He must have seen the light because he has uploaded 3 torrents this year already(thank you for sharing wade). I can say he has been a power user since late 2008 and had auto approve privileges just as long.

As far as being "charged" your own upload…that would be a deal breaker for me to.  If I put together a nice 2GB torrent to upload and then got slammed with 2GB of "leeched" traffic for that upload, I would just stop uploading.  Thankfully that is not the deal here.  Your upload guarantees at least it's size in seeded traffic plus any charity SBP users may give to you.

It was not directed at you at all.  In fact I just gave you some reputation points with the blue heart to say that you bring a  certain balance to the forum topics.  I should have probably not posted that comment at all.

Thank you for helping keep our forum discussions alive and thank you for being open minded enough to see all points of view.  A lesson that I could well learn from you. ;D

One thing I would like to clarify in this thread is that Mods are not "given" free seed bonus points or any free seeded traffic to boost our ratio.  The ratio and seed bonus points you see are all "earned".  Either through seeding or as gifts from thankful members who like our uploads.

Uploading torrents is something I like to see and I encourage it from as many members as possible.  That's why I have my Firsttime Uploaders Program.  I also give SBP in two forum games which are The Uploader Triva Game and Alphabetical Word Game. And I give SBP to every torrent I snatch from the tracker.

What I do not like to see is uploaders who expect generous treatment when they in 3 years have earned hundreds of SBPs, given only 30SBPs away after downloading 50 torrents since 6-5-2011 and trading them in 13 times for 5GB of seeded traffic for themselves. I try to be civil but this gimmie, gimmie, gimmie is getting old.

In my experience, the best way to get SBP is to post something "rare" or something alot of users want.  Search the torrents and order them by SBP and you'll see what I mean.  It may not be content you even like but if you can get it and share it, others will usually reward you.

Some mods have already chimed in about this in this thread about incentives for uploaders verses regular seeders.  It may be worth it to read that thread to get some incite about it before you start to see the same posts just rehashed in your thread.  But trust me…MODS LOVE UPLOADERS!  ;D

Seeing we have a Chubs and Chasers SIG now, this thread is kindof a moot point. Chubs, Chasers, Leather and Bears are definitively different interests. They may overlap some but two different SIGs was the way to go.

While I was work today I had a thought about this situation and came to a simple conclusion.  Why not just PM the "offending" seeders and explain to them you are working on your ratio.  Then you could politely ask them to throttle their upload speed until you can properly seed the torrent.

ballard1 I am not trying to be combative with you at all.  I actually agree with your idea about rewarding uploaders. Read my previous posts about this already being discussed "at a higher level" in the past.  I just try to give voice to the seeders who are contributing but they just aren't uploading new material, that's all.  Again I apologize if I hurt your feelings.

Here is a sample of what I would send to a "super seeder":

Dear [you],

First off thank you for choosing my torrent upload as material you wish to snatch from the tracker.

The problem is that I am trying to work on my ratio and your upload speed is so much faster than mine that many leechers are getting more content from you than they are me(the original uploader).  Is it possible that you "throttle" your upload speed until I can fully upload my torrent?  If you are not sure how to do this, the support forums have several guides on how to configure many of the popular torrent clients.

Umm call me crazy but 7.24GB of seeded traffic for one torrent is contributing.While it makes sense to look for a way to reward uploaders as we have discussed I think it would be forever unfair to punish someone for having a faster upload line.

It's just that I have the same "speed" upload as you do and I do just fine ratio wise.  The only thing I may do different is I don't rely solely on GTRU for my content.  I do get plenty of stuff elsewhere. It would not be fair to users like mike2009 to ask him to slow down his sharing just because we are all not as fast as him.

Highspeed lines are not that expensive….anywhere in the world anymore. If you have tow internet lines like your profile says then drop them and get one good line.
