Shit, I'm more interested in the end of the last episode WTF!

I recently watched Viharsarok aka Land of Storms,  The premise intrigued me and drew me in.  I was left, however, disappointed and angry. Either gay films teeter between cheezy sentimentality or ridiculous tragedy.  It's either twinks on parade with various high-jinx, or coming out, or daddy-son, or mentally ill prostitutes, or weird fetishes, (see O Fantasma) warning not safe for easily upset stomachs. This movie had the hallmarks of a great movie, the subtitles are shit but at least I could read the german subtitles when hungarian was spoken, anyway,The acting was superb the premise great, the setting real, but then of course a turn out of left field towards the end upset an otherwise great movie. WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so tired of the tragedy, the furtive glances, the longing, the unrequited love trope.  I repeat every gay love story need not be tragic. It's 2015, we are nearly 40 years from stonewall, can we escape this doom and gloom.  Can we stop fucking in bathroom stalls or parks. Can we date?, really date, Can we be mentally stable and not psychopathic? Can We? Can We?
