So in exciting news, I came out to my dad. I had talked with my mom years earlier and had been waiting for a good time to tell my dad. He is conservative but not exactly religious. The only discussion we had about gay marriage is that the word marriage is a word belonging to the church, and that the government only got into marriages to make money. Therefore, everything should be unions and he had no problem with lgbt community having weddings (so basically semantics). I have a cousin who is a lesbian but every time I wanted to tell him, something came up (something with family, my brothers, work, etc..). So I told him last week and he said "Ok." He later added as long as you are happy, that is what is important and other things. It feels weird but also good at the same time.
Of course, there goes my excuse for not dating…....
