    • RE: And the country that watches the most gay porn is…

I agree about the search term but the other important fact is Google! In "rich countries" gay newbies will surely use the general search words "gay porn" but not on Google! If you take a look around you now ten years old know about torrent and sites for torrent. Those youngs won't count in the study because they already use a specialized site.  :blownose:

And think about our century! Now every kiddo has a smartphone that i'm sure isn't counted in this study. They don't have those kind of phones in South Countries! So they use the old fashioned way : googling on a computer ^^

If the study wouldn't have been only about Google, the results would have been entirely different 😉

A sociopath isn't a psychopath in the way most people see it. A psychopath is someone that suffers from a psychic disorder that affects the way he interacts with people or/and the way he feels.

Psychopathy isn't even a correct diagnostic since it haven't been recognized as such by the autorities  :crazy2:

There can be two factors to a sociopath that can goes together : the, real famous now, traumatic event and for the real worst cases it can come from a brain problem. (let's leave problem cause there are so much things in our brains that can be tempered it and could cause such disorder  😉 )

But there are drugs that could turn each and everyone of us into a sociopath. Drugs that are used on rapist and others damn people that I don't like at all. Those drugs can block connection in your brain… Basically you put to sleep what has proved to be problematic so you'll never feel the envy/desire again.

In the old fashioned time people had forced lobotomy to suppress those ideas/fantasms/tendencies. But turns out drilling your brain is a bit fulsome  :cheesy2:

    • RE: Sodom & Gomorrah - What the bible really says

      @fancydude:

#16 I typed a whole ramble on comparing Christianity with other religions and I think it would be misinterpreted.  And I don't even know if I'm right 100% or have all the facts.  As with everything, the exremists are the only ones who make the news - do they really represent the whole or majority of a given group?  I don't know.  Another example people don't vote for the most part in Islamic countries, Saudi Arabia is a monarchy right?  I would find that a difficult place to live.  But I certainly acquiesce that I was raised Christian and people obviously tend to find reasons to continue to live the way they were raised.  Then again, if you watched that movie "not without my daughter" with Sally Field, it was interesting to see how the husband behaved in America and how he changed when he returned to Iran/Iraq, I forget.  And certainly the children born in USA of immigrants  originating from those countries seem to be Americanized or Britainized for the most part.  It is a mystery still though when you read about a suicide bomber that was born in Britain, went to school there and was highly educated - his name escapes me now.  Comparing him to a Timothy McVeigh who was not educated and maybe just crazy doesn't seem helpful or enlightening does it?  Christian countries overall though seem to be much more tolerant of other religions in their midst - possibly to their detriment - we'll see as time goes on but the reverse doesn't seem true does it?  To go back to the very beginning of your #16  though, you said " no we can't" and "the Bible says' doesn't wash" yeah probably, but I will also point out if your head is cut off, you can't say anything!   So, if you want to dscuss this further, you can PM me and I'll give you my home email.

I really have to quote that… I'm sorry but if you refer to history it is false. "The Crusades" for exemple... Search who really was St Patrick and who were the snake he forced into the sea. (The who really is on purpose, here...)

There will always be what we call the majority (which force us to based our judgment on something) and the special cases (doesn't matter their numbers as long as they aren't the majority). Well if you look at the Christians' majority... well we obviously wouldn't be talking on this site if they had something to say about it.

Lately the actual Pope try to ease the war between Christians and Gays but let's face it : it didn't change a thing for 90% of the planet. Cause when you spend your entire life being told, by your Church and your family, that you should hate what is different that you teach it to your kids you just don't have the balls to say otherwise...

Trying to be the nice and good Christians between 2013 and 2015 will never be enough to redeem all the wrong they've done... (that's my idea, everyone can think differently)

And let's head back to homosexuality (I think it's the most interesting part  :hapgay: ) they're a lot of religions (pre-christianism) that actually promoted same-gender sexe! Like a lot! We all know about the Romans that loved between men sexe 😉 (The Theban Legion is a good exemple for those who know about it) but there were also the japonese deities that enjoyed it themselves and, according to the folklore, teached it to the humans

When you look at the before J.C and the after J.C we lost a lot... Too much, maybe if I dare say.

    • RE: Can gay people change their sexual orientation or gender identity? - See more at

They tested a drug some time ago that could actually make gay people feel attracted to women (well not really it was just their brains that with some big help make them react about a woman the way they would physically react about a man)

If it really was successful we surely all would have learn about it by now.

So far, none can prove that he/she really manage to change his/her sexual orientations. And simply because people can say what they what they want but we still can't see a feeling. Cause here is the problem : you can stop being attracted to everyone but you can't stop having feelings for someone and that's what define your sexual orientation! Who you fall in love with!

The only solution would be turn into a sociopath : you can't feel love so you won't fall in love with men. But sadly you won't fall in love at all. Ever. Again.

Btw they're still really far from "the gay gene" if it does exist! And i certainly, if it does, that won't find it. Sorry for those, who may want to "change" some day, but if anyone was able to discover before you're even born what your sexual orientation would be… let's just say homosexuality would have disappear many years ago...

    • RE: The science behind homosexuality

That is not an empirical argument by the way.  At least contribute something thoughtful.  Using the word "lame" without actually scientifcally refuting something is "lame".   :angel2:

A theory that can't be demonstrated and told as one of the greatest law of universe when it's just up to the way someone saw it it's LAME  👼

Btw, even Plato himself said that this "perfect" circle can be achieved only in our mind. In reality close enough is good enough. Basically the perfect circle theory means you can dream about perfection, see it in your mind but in the reality you will never achieved it.

Perhaps trying to achieve perfection is a way of non accepting what you don't like about yourself. It may seem reassuring to believe Science can/will be able to change you the way you want it but accepting that a human being can't be perfect and must assume and live with his defaults is also part of growing up. It's also an important part of therapy 'cause not being able to accept what/who you are shows some psychological troubles.

    • RE: And the country that watches the most gay porn is…

We also need to count that the research is based only on Google. Which means that's all specialized gay porn sites aren't counted.

Basically it's like they ask "who search the most for the words gay porn" instead of "who watch the most gay porn" or "who is interested in gay porn the most". In many countries the gay porn googling is over for a decade now. For African countries, that kinda started using internet recently, it's like discovering a whole new world.

If you'd do the same study over "straight porn"/"how to use a computer"/… they would also be in the top 10 ^^

Plus, in the countries that forbid homosexuality it's like a "dark fascination" for them. With everything that you're being told is forbidden comes curiosity. Thanks to the internet we can actually measure it ahah

But people aren't just forms! We are so many others things!

And the Plato's theory is kinda lame in a way… Perfect circle according to who?
I mean, i can present you a perfect chair. It will be perfect to me cause it would answer everything i want from a chair but to you it can be ridiculous or ugly...

Perfection is based on perception. Which is interpreted by the brain. Therefor, it can't be only one perception of the perfection since all brains doesn't work/apprehend things the same way. Even on the forms basis.

Ex : For some people their brains can't understand form and as much as they're genuine when things are in 2D they get lost and confused in 3D. They could look at the "perfect" cube and still find it disturbing or even, in the worst cases, can't understand how it differs from a square...

Plus, if i wanted to be of bad faith... Perfection means literraly "what is achieved totally". The word wasn't meant to describe a tangible thing nor a human being.

“I have become increasingly alarmed at the uneven pitch upon which rights and equality issues are played out. More and more the balance is tipped against people of faith." That's my favorite phrase or how, in a few words, you can turn your speech into shit… Poor judgemental people of faith. We need to stop being proud of what we are! I mean come on! Those people who are scared, who offer free hate and a lot of annoying and medievals common bullshit obviously need protection and support...

One of my teacher once wondered why a country shouldn't be too close from the Church... I guess this article answer his question.

And where was that damn conscience clause when some priests thought they could abuse of children while saying that sodomite should burn in hell?!

Poor Ireland... Becoming a soon to be Russia. Saddening.  :cry2:

They still haven't proved that being gay is in our DNA… But I, too, don't believe it's a choice.
A lot of animal species have "gay sex" but most animals can't reason therefor they can't choose to be be gay or "have gay sex" it's just the way it is.

There are lots of theories about why/how do you become gay? Unfortunately, no one can answer simply this question. There are almost as many theories as there are gays/bi/lesbians...

    • RE: Gay gene discovery

Technically this study isn't finished yet 'cause the first times they "proved" that this gene could influence a male sexual orientation but the recent ones proved that the result isn't convincing. Since the multiples studies don't agree on the result is wrong to assume the XQ28 is the "queer gene". The Psychological Medicine (the most recent one) is based only on same family members subjects which , for most of them, share the same DNA. Two gays blood brothers can't be used as tangible proof.

The XQ28 plays a part in the androgen receptor, indeed. Which basically means it influenced your testosterone and dihydrotestoterone level in your cytoplasm. Many scientist made an assumption : being gay means being less than a man. We all know better now. You can be gay and still be a man full of testosterone therefore the XQ28 has no relation with your sexual orientation since your sexual orientation isn't characterized, a consequence by how womanly you act.

Certains genes withing the XQ28 can play a part in anxiety and autism. At a time when being gay was considered a mental illness the XQ28 seems to explain everything and put all in the good cases. I mean, gay people being mentally sick and pretending to be/acting like women : there must be a correlation with the genetic marker that can be responsible for autism and womanly behaviour…

    • RE: The science behind homosexuality

The only thing on which we can call ourselves equals is being a human being. Even between two same family members we can a find a lot of differencies, the same goes for same species, religions,… . Trying to build a society based on perfection isn't possible. Perfection is subjectif. We don't all aspire to the same things therefor we can't all want to be the same thing or have the same thing.
Plus the Science has its limit or we would already all be immortal or immune to any disease. We aren't. I really believe that Science isn't supposed to rule our lives but just help those who need it. And by need i don't mean changing your eyes colors because you prefer green over brown but need in a sense of real necessity : vital!
Accepting what/who we are is part of our normal psychological development if you can't accept it you need help. First to really understand why and if you need any change... Secondly because changing yourself, even in "an improved version", can cause serious damages to your psyche.

I totally agree with myrea and I, too, think that we aren't created to be uniform. People are meant to evolve and this evolution is based on differents things for each and everyone of us. It's only logical that, through time, we became all differents from each other.

    • RE: Obesity is illegal in Japan!

It's written in the article that

      1. There is no fine or penalty for those who exceed the recommended measurements
The penalties will only be for the companies that doesn't send their employees on medical examinations.

      2. Men […] women […] are considered “at risk” and are referred to counseling, email and phone monitoring and correspondence, along with motivational support

So basically it's not illegal to be overweight in Japan it's just monitored when you're over 40 (which is when overweight can get really problematic for your heart).

I don't see what is wrong about this law! It means to protect, supervise and inform and as long as the employees goes to the medical even the companies won't pay a thing.

Plus, guys the law is effective since 2008 and in 4 years I think we'd have learned about it if it was that ridiculous  :hehe:

The fact that you're having no problem with the exclusion of the poor/ugly/weak/… kinda scares me. Why would we want to change anything about us when we could simply accept how we are and wouldn't need to spend the rest of ours lives in therapy?

I mean, seriously, why people can't just accept the way they're?

I'm ok with science and progress but there's no need to play god. Let's things go their ways, just use science and technology to heal and cure not to create the perfect of you that, excuse me, would be boring. Perfection is boring. Being all alike is boring.
