While DHT can be great to find more seeds / rare torrents - one should not enable it but only as a last measure. Use a torrent app that allows DHT to be turned on/off per torrent in addition to global on/off.

This site doesn't use DHT.  In fact, I don't know of any site that DOES use DHT.

The best HD's out there right now are the HGST's but they are expensive, I've got Raid6 so I can handle a failure (or two) so I opt for cheaper drives knowing that it's not worth it for me to invest in better right now. Just 2-3 years ago I was buying 3TB drives and now I buy 5TB with 8TB's on the horizon of being the best $/TB. If you want good consumer HD stats look no further than Backblaze's report on the ones they use. That's my recommendation, and then wait for SSD's to take over the world of storage so mechanical wear and tear becomes a thing of the past  :cheers:
