Xbox One vs Playstation 4
-
Question is…..What are you buying when the new consoles are released?
-
I will be buying the new xbox one.
Again both manufacturers disappoint with no support for backwards compatibility -
I'll be buying the Xbox One, then spring of next year I'll get the PS4.
I prefer Xbox because of the physical issue. I'm just shy of 6'2" and I don't have dainty hands. All the various Xbox controllers have fit in my hands nicely, while all the PlayStation controllers have been small and after a an hour or so caused my hands to cramp up.
-
PS4 definitely. Cheaper, better graphics, better exclusives, no DRM nonsense. It's a no-brainer for me
-
still too soon to tell, I'm predicting sony trying to go all monopoly on realeases, but we shall see
-
I will probably be buying both, just not at the launch or at the same time. Since there are a few exclusive franchises for each that I really like, I always end up buying them both.
If the Wii-U can get some more strong titles I would buy it too.
-
PS4 for me, always playstation.
-
I've got a Wii U and I'll buy a PS4 in the future. Nintendo and Sony are the best choice for all their esclusive games.
-
It's… going to be a while for me. I've been having more fun picking up the older systems that I've missed, and given that I just got a PS3 about a year ago, I've no need to rush out for either. Even the WiiU will wait until I see more info on SMTxFE.
-
I got a PS4 because it is the more powerful console and for remote play on the PS Vita (which works perfectly). The system is great, however, you can get all the same games and more on XBox, Sony currently lacks decent exclusives.

I bought my son a PS4 for Christmas and won't even consider buying an Xbone.
The anti consumer policies that the they had when they first introduced the console showed me just what kind of company Microsoft is and it's not one that I want to do business with. I know that they changed their policies about used games and the always on internet connection but to me the damage was already done.
Not only that but the Xbone is less powerful and more expensive than the PS4 as well. I bought the PS4 camera along with my PS4 and it still ended up being cheaper than the Xbone by close to 50 bucks.
Xbone seems to be putting too much emphasise on other things besides gaming as well, like all the TV bullcrap. I don't watch TV so I don't need all that crap.I want my console to play games everything else is pretty much unused features for me.
But with all that said I don''t really use any console and like I said, I bought it for my son. I prefer playing games on my PC and won't even think of playing a FPS on a console. I don't know how my kid does it in Call of Duty. When I play a FPS with a controller it takes me 2-3 seconds every time I aim my gun so I'm completely useless in multiplayer. Give me a keyboard and mouse though and it's a whole other story.

As an update;
I got both consoles for Christmas (day of release, that is).
The PS4 has larger controllers than the previous PS consoles. They are still smaller than the Xbox controllers, but they don't cause the hand cramping like the older PS controllers do.
As of today's date, the PS4 is sorely lacking in exclusive games compared to the Xbox ONE.
-
Basic points of distinction so far for me are, and correct me please, the xbox one has less errors and glitches than the Ps4, and graphically so far all I noticed is the ps4 having more particles like rain than the xboxone, if you play around your tv settings you can barely destinguish the two, tho ps4 is 1096 and xbox one is 960 of resolution, shading is pretty close and xboxone do appears more crisp sharp and contrasted than the counterpart. I'll only buy next years so they fix most errors, and more titles come out.
-
I don't see the difference in performance of either machine but from what I have seen in the previous gen consoles Playstation had the better games and that's what it boils down to. Both Sony and M'soft should focus on building better gaming machines + games and show less concern for replacing the PC/TV.
-
Happy with my Xbox One purchase. Can't wait for Titanfall and Quantum Break!
-
PS4 is great. Although the games are slim right now… but loving what I have on it already.
GDC next week will hopefully reveal more games coming as well as E3 not too far away

PS4

I'm with you there, agree wholeheartedly, the fact that Micro$oft do whatever they want is a huge problem, not as big as their followers screaming out "this is good" just because M$ claimed it to be though… (win7 compared to XP where I've only seen polite requests for allowing changes back to the XP way with the followers screaming about how great that specific feature is, noone from the "XP crowd" has ever asked for a feature to be removed only the option to revert back on their own PC's)
Xbone seems to be putting too much emphasise on other things besides gaming as well, like all the TV bullcrap. I don't watch TV so I don't need all that crap.I want my console to play games everything else is pretty much unused features for me.
Agree with that, I want my console for gaming as well, OK I can find it useful with a friends-list and being able to talk with them online, the main reason to have a console is however to play games.
But with all that said I don''t really use any console […] I prefer playing games on my PC and won't even think of playing a FPS on a console. […] When I play a FPS with a controller it takes me 2-3 seconds every time I aim my gun so I'm completely useless in multiplayer. Give me a keyboard and mouse though and it's a whole other story.
I'm again with you there, which is why I don't play FPS's on the console - I've thought about getting a mouse/controller combo though - and I've been playing quite a lot of FPS's online, starting with the Quake demo back in -96. (even if I don't play them online anymore there's no controller that beats the mouse for accuracy and speed)
With all this said - as I'm quite happy with my 360 - if I get a new console the choice isn't clear as I'm quite a big fan of Forza and it's Micro$oft branded so I might be forced to go with it due to loving that series and that franchise is the only reason that makes me even consider the ONE, had it not existed I'd be all over the PS4… (time will tell, I'm in no rush to get a new console)
