Advertisements have reappeared
-
Some time back I donated to the site, and the banner advertisements went away (after I set my profile to hide them). Now, they show up again–sometimes showing straight content. (I respect everyone's preferences, but I don't really want to see female genitalia.)
Did the policy on suppressing advertisements change? I can understand that perhaps I should be more current in my support of the site. At the very least, perhaps advertisements could be tagged as gay/bi/straight, and users could opt-out/in for specific content. An ad for a straight porn site isn't going to get a click from me.
Best wishes to all!

The advertising is in a disturbing way and messes with the browsing experience. Opening up other windows and with closing not returning to the window you came from. It is really annoying.
I fully agree with regards to the content of the advertising. I do not mind advertising, but this is too much. It is insulting. Think about it what happens if it is the other way around, than you really have got a big problem. Now I'm not heterofobic, but some respect, which is totally normal when it concerns breeders, would be nice (and also visually).
Any case, many thanks for this site.

I'm having the same issues. A majority of the advertisements are straight in nature, plus, I've donated and expected the adverts to go away with that. Explicit pictures of gaping female genitalia isn't exactly what I want to see in the gay sections of the site.

So any news on this yet? Why are we still seeing adverts, yet alone vaginas all over the torrent pages. I find them disturbing to be honest, I wouldn't mind as much if they were gay adverts. I have also donated.

Please go to your Site Profile > Banners / Ads Donor [] Check this to turn off Banners and Ads (Donators * only)
Then you should have only a slim horizontal banner on top of the description. I've tested that with another non-moderator test account.

Hi,
Thanks for the tip. I have checked that box, did it get auto-unchecked during an update or something? Anyway there still remains one advert amongst the picture previews for the torrent. They link to excoclick.com. (As well as the banner at the top which I don't mind because it doesn't contain vaginas!).
-
Strange, I don't see that with the picture previews with my test account … (and as moderator not, too), only the one which isn't bothering you.
This needs further thest and perhaps brought to the administrators attentions.

Here's a screenshot of what I see.

I'm still having the same problem (even though I've checked the profile box to not show advertisements). In fact, I get an even more hideous sight–see screenshot below.
Since the profile option isn't working for me, I now use the AdBlockPlus plug-in for my Firefox browser to suppress advertising from the gt.ru domain, and it works perfectly. I'm not cheating the site out of advertising revenue, as I would never click on these ads anyway.

Sorry about the link popper. I didn't know I could attach files here
The AdBlockPlus plug-in for Firefox works for me too. I disabled the default filter as I don't want all adverts blocked, and just blocked the ones I don't want to see. It works great.

I have no problems with ads, but a fat naked woman bouncing up and down on a dick on a gay site? Who is this supposed to be for!?! I'm totally offended by it!

I think it's some sort of stereotyping that is going on. For example Google won't display ads on a site that has adult material - presumably they think people that enjoy porn aren't interested in anything else, like clothes, holidays etc… Ebay apparently refuse to affiliate with any gay site, whether general gay interest or otherwise (unless they recently changed this policy) - they must think gay people don't want to buy things. Both are beyond stupid in this respect. And with these generic porn ads, presumably they think porn lovers like all porn or they just play it random offending gay people with straight ads and straight people with gay ads, instead of tailoring the ads to the site which would benefit everyone.
