He got life in prison (for the assassination attempt) + 7 years and a $500 fine (use of a gun in the commission of a felony) for attempting to assassinate Trump.

Even being a far-left liberal, I'm glad that this guy will spend the rest of his life behind bars. Assassination isn't how you do things in a democracy.
