Question to the site staff, regarding the ongoing trend of re-uploading material that already exists in the site, under the disguise of "US/UK/ fansites collection 39/40/50" containing files from multiple random creators.

You go check the content of each crator, the folder is a mirror of other previously uploaded torrent.

It is a very common practice, so therefore I assume it is allowed, but it seems like just a clever duplicate circumvention, where instead of duplicating one torrent you simply duplicate a dozen at once and get 12 times the credit.

In short I am asking the staff if this is "fine" not in the sense that they think it's fair, but that it's technically not against the rules.

@ianfontinell-0 Well, there's a few things at play here. The rules for a collection require that collections have a well defined common theme. The general rule to this is that the content must all be of the same performer, or must be from the same site/studio.

The unwritten exception here is with fan sites like OF, JFF, etc. Since these sites are an independent site so to speak, such collections must be from the same performer or same account. As a general rule, mixing different creators of the same site (such as OF, JFF, etc) does not constitute a collection, so these torrents would end up being removed for not having a clearly defined theme.

The only time where we would consider it being acceptable to re-up content like this is if the collection that already exists goes to say November 2024 (just as an example), but the collection that is being uploaded has all the same content, but also extends the collection to say September 2025.

Also, the only other exception to the duplicate issue is if the two collections are the same content, however are in a different format container (i.e. one is in AVI, the other is in MP4). If they're of the same format container, they are considered a duplicate unless the file size difference for each video in the collection is greater than 10%, unless there is a technical difference between the two, such as one is 1080p and the other is only 720p, or if one is 4k and the other is 1080p.

So... When it comes to these collections, I would encourage you to bring such cases to my attention, and I'd be happy to review them on a case by case basis and handle them accordingly. We try to keep things fair for all users, so I'd be more than happy to dig deeper into this if you can give me examples of what you're referring to.

          @ianfontinell-0 Fucking too right!

It drives me up the wall, and I've pretty much stopped downloading any of that stuff because it's all just a big con imo. People are taking random OF and JFF rips of individuals and then then bundling them into even larger "collections" where most would struggle to find any commonality between them all.

Some of the worst examples are the SketchySex and FraternityX series. It feels like every few days a new collection is uploaded that is just a bunch of vids cobbled together in such a way that it doesn't quite match the dozens of already uploaded collections.

It's not just duplicating content either. One of the last ones I grabbed was part of a themed series, all of them fairly large downloads. The last one contained a "Bonus Folder" which was filled with utterly random shite that didn't match the them of the collection, and didn't even form what anyone would call a collection in and of itself.

People are constantly padding their uploads or just blatantly gaming the system to dupe people into downloading content they already grabbed many times before. It's shitty behaviour, but often manages to sit just on the right side of the fence when it comes to the rules. I have no idea how to combat it without inundating the mods with reports of dubious uploads.

@frostycab behold the latest recycled garbage, in case you're in the mood for some fish 'n' chips: British porn collection

on a related note, i've noticed that it's typically just the same set of users on here commiserating with each other about how these new problems are creeping up.

it doesn't look like the admin team has enough bandwidth to address the problems or even chime in with their opinions on the topic. it also doesn't look like there are opportunities to help alleviate their load. i'm resigned to the fact that it not worth my time and energy making suggestions or calling issues out when it seems to have about the same effect as shouting into the void.

@frostycab that's precisely how i feel, i understand that the site is considerably understaffed when it comes to moderating and reinforcing rules that are not easy to check. i am not a mod and it already feels like a pain in the butt having to go over torrent after torrent just to check if they are duplicates, to only then being able finally make a report, for another mod to have to go through the same effort except that they are already handling a dozen similar cases on their own...

so in a sense it's a misdemeanor situation where, the behavior in undesirable, but to prevent and punish it, it would be required an amount of effort that is currently unfeasible, so it ends up being allowed.

@ianfontinell-0 It was one of the main reasons I started using StashDB to organise my whole library. It takes some effort to scrape all the data and/or enter the missing info yourself, but it has made it so much easier for me to check if I already have something when a new upload looks familiar. I can search by performer, studio, date range, my own tags, and even if I get a couple of hundred results it only takes a brief look at the thumbnails to jog my memory.

There's a valid argument that any upload can be said to add value to the site's offerings, but at the same time a bad upload takes away almost as much as it gives, and can easily lead to people getting sent to ratio-jail for downloading huge volumes of misleading or hidden files. I've just remembered a forum thread from a few weeks ago about an upload that was billed as something like "Massive collection of bareback videos" and the uploader couldn't see the argument that bareback is itself a category rather than a theme suitable for a collection. Using their logic I'd estimate that you could bundle roughly 70-80% of the videos on this site into a single collection and upload that, whereas I believe the intent is to provide more focused material that represent a subset of the whole.

To the uploaders of these torrents I'd say please think of the other members, not just your own ratio. Take a little bit of time and actually curate your uploads so that downloaders aren't overwhelmed with bloat. To the ones that are just dumping this stuff on the site to help their ratios I'd say please just go and spend the price of a cup of coffee and get a seedbox for a month. That will do more for your ratio just with your usual downloads than any number of rubbish uploads will ever do.

This is probably the best example. It's old now, but huge at 436GB and just seems to be random cam shows. The description translates as "Basically the same as before with more videos, names in photos and sorted by date": "Chaturbate videos update" https://www.gaytor.rent/details.php?id=02f713e15767701731aab4170a5875fb985ee6683183b238

I don't want to start a witch-hunt, and I don't know which side of the rule fence torrents like these sit on, but Given time I could find better examples. I notice there was one that I previously reported for padding the theme with a "bonus folder" has been removed, so it seems I was right once at least. 🙂

@MrMazda to take some concrete examples, are these torrents valid collections?

                      • British porn collection
                      • British porn collection part 2
                      • Euro Fan Sites 43
                      • Euro Fan Sites 42
                      • Euro Fan Sites 41
                      • Brazil porn actors Pack
                      • [East Boys Eboys Hammer and Vimpex] Studio porn movies scenes collection

i'd actually reported that last monster torrent without seeing any action or receiving any feedback.

to be fair, there are more than enough people in the community, or even just this thread, who can easily point out these fake collections, but there isn't much point in doing so if there is not going to be any action or feedback.

the current "report"ing mechanism is not very effective. an example of how things can be done better - on another private tracker, when a torrent is reported, this is reflected next to the torrent title and the report text is also public, for instance "someone has reported this torrent: <reason>". this makes it pretty clear that there is some pending mod action on that torrent.

To sum up, my only intetion with this topic was to ask is mirroring a bunch of previous torrents from other users into a single "twink collection" or "euro collection" or "latin collection" allowed?

I know the written rules (the only rules that should exist btw) don't say anything about it, so it does not make sense for me to go through the effort of naming examples to be handled on a case by case basis, it is just trying to ice skate uphill, when there is nothing in the rules that discourages this behavior.
