Why are americans so fat?
-
I just found out today that taking anti-depressants results in massive weight gain!
Since 70% of american adults are on anti-depressants, that is probably why we are a nation of fatasses.
(I don't take anti-depressants).

70 percent? Really? Based on what?
That site reckons it to be around 18% across the population. I'm not going to demand that anyone believe the figures given there, but they certainly seem to track with other sites and results trending back as far as 2011 when the CDC said it was about 11%.
So yeah, the last 8 months must have been a doozy where you live.

I believe that's caused by excessive consumption of processed food.

@frostycab I looked again, and the range of CURRENT americans taking anti-depressants seems to range from 17%-24% (still WAY too many).
I thing the 70% reference I found was for how many americans HAVE taken anti-depressants, not how many are currently taking them. And then there are those taking non-prescription drugs supplied by their local drug pusher. https://quotewizard.com/news/mental-health-prescriptions
