I just noticed someone uploaded a 7gb torrent that was uploaded a long time ago.
It occurred to me that when that new torrent is removed for being a DUPE, how is the downloader to know that the file is still on the site but was not removed because of a fake DMCA strike but as a DUPE?

I think the easiest solution to that would be to BUMP the old torrent to being a new date so that people can FIND the file they were looking for.

The way it is set up now, the original uploads are buried on the site where very few people go searching for them, while the dupes get nuked - without explanation to the leechers.

@lololulu19 We stopped promoting torrents at all. This was largely due to the number of complaints of most of the "new" torrents being old torrents that are just being "recycled".

As for the people downloading the dupe torrent, we move these torrents to a special category that is not visible to regular users, but keeps the torrent active enough on the tracker to still allow the peers who are currently connected to complete their download. The actual torrent delete does not happen until the last peer has finished downloading the torrent.

@MrMazda is totally correct. As I've pointed out on here before, if a swarm exists then removing the listing from the site doesn't kill the swarm, and I've advised people numerous times to keep their uploads/downloads active even after a listing is removed as long as they can see others in the swarm.

@MrMazda I have noticed that studios are increasingly recycling old scenes in collections.

I put most of the blame on Onlyfans - which has become the largest employer of guys doing gay stuff instead of going to a studio and having professional cameramen and directors. This shit with hand held selfie cell phone videos and tripods with no cameramen is garbage.

@MrMazda I don't see how anybody can complain that a torrent is old if a torrent is clearly labeled as BUMPED or RECYCLED.

When someone reports a duplicate, they must provide the URL of the original torrent that was duplicated. If the new torrent is determined to be a duplicate, it should be removed from view and the old torrent automatically labeled with a BUMP or RECYCLED tag.

Imagine if all the music from the 1980's was buried without being bumped constantly on the radio. Likewise, the golden classics from Bel Ami, Falcon, William Higgins, etc. must not be lost. I am not in favor of bumping stuff JUST because it is old, but if someone went to the trouble of posting an old video, then the odds of it being a cock hardener are pretty good.

@lololulu19 We had been doing this until recently due to the fact that over 90% of "new" torrents, were actually torrents that had been recycled, sometimes many times.

@MrMazda I wonder if that was due to more videos being recycled...
or less new videos being posted...
                  or both?
