Themed movies category deletion
-
Will this really happen- to delete one of the most important and most interesting categories- themed movies??? ???
-
That is at good probability :cry2: . There will be for sure tighter rules as for what gay themed movies will be allowed (soon).
Personally I started to catch as much as I can now.
-
I have an idea. ::)
Before deletion, we could have get-acquainted period for several days,
and the torrents which will be deleted would be bumped in the meantime.
Then we could learn what is not gay-themed stuff on this site actually and download before deletion.
Hopeless? -
Not a bad idea :hug2:
The biggest obstacle which I see are our limited staff resources to work on torrents and when changes are decided, they shall be implemented fast.
Sorry, can't promise anything, especially as it is not clear if there will be more restrictions to Themed Movies / TV Episodes or all to go at once. :afr:
-
I'm very relieved reading the latest site news.
-
Yes, I am happy that Tom did listen  and the Themed Movies don't vanish all like the music torrents.
Here a first draft what the rule could look like:
The content shared by the torrents must be specifically Gay related. Gay interest only, an openly gay actor or a minor gay character in a movie or TV episode are not enough . Do NOT upload any Gay Themed movie released to the mainstream cinemas or produced by a mainstream studio / TV channel.
To notice the definition of Gay Themed,. "Mainstream" will be based on the success of a movie and the production studio. / channel.
Basically it will mean movies which are not in the gay niche and can be found on general sites will have no more place here, even if gay.
Look for the ~ms (mainstream) and ~ng (not gay themed) tags.
[off-topic]Sorry for all, it are quite rough and moved times right now. Believe me the staff is affected by it, it isn't easy for us, too.[/off-topic]

First, I want to say that I'm very glad all categories will be preserved - with some restrictions of course. I'd like to thank tom, but I don't want to bother him. I just hope he reads this. I'd also like to thank all the GT.ru's staff for all the hard work.
All the new restrictions concerning material from big production companies or TV networks makes perfect sense. We don't want to attract the attention of studios that are willing to engage into lawsuits about copyrights. We all want to keep this site safe and secure. For the same reason, I welcome the new restrictions in the Appz Category.
But I would like to draw your attention to something that seems like a contradiction to me. The following is an exact quote from the revised rules:
"All submitted material must have GAY THEMED CONTENT or MALE PHYSIQUE VOYEURISM. Gay-interest, an openly gay actor or minor gay characters are insufficient to meet this requirement. Do NOT upload any gay-themed movies that are released or produced by and for mainstream cinema / TV studios. Examples of voyeuristic material would include bodybuilding, wrestling and underwear/swimwear."
So, we exclude material with gay interest or an openly gay actor or minor gay characters because they're insufficient (not gay enough), but at the same time we are about to include bisexual categories, and we allow material with bodybuilders, wrestlers and underwear/swimwear models even if they are straight. That seems rather contradictory. Is this gay-sufficient material?Personally, I have no objection with the inclusion of bisexual categories (I'm glad you decided not to include exclusively straight porn) or with male physique voyeurism. On the contrary, I welcome your point of view to consider them gay-sufficient material. I just wish you applied the same rules to gay-interest/gay actors/gay characters material, and consider them gay sufficient. No double standard.
Respectfully,
Dax -
Thanks for the kind words of understanding.
As an example what will not pass any more:
https://www.gaytorrent.ru/details.php?id=148047The main issue with "Gay Interest" is the difficulty to define what it is. Compared to that, the male physical voyeurism is easy to define.
-
It is better to conceptualize the policy change in terms of two broad categories: Porn and Non-Porn.
Porn: Gay, Bisexual and Male Physique
Non-Porn: Gay-themed; Non-mainstream material onlyThe Porn category extends into a wide variety of gay-interest areas, with exception of straight porn. The Non-Porn category excludes all areas except for non-mainstream, gay-themed content.

I'm thankful to Tom's decision and staff's hard work. :hug2:
Now I'm curious and anxious about the making of Dieux du Stade 2013 video… :cry2:
We cannot have it? -
I think I've got the answer, so ignore above question, please.
I don't wanna bother staffs. -
Members explaining their concerns and questions don't bother, especially not you, and even more when making constructive proposals.
Yes, you've got the answer by the torrents marked ~ms and ~ng, which is the result of a first quick scan through the "Themed Movie" category focusing on mainstream (studio) productions. The same needs to be done with the "TV / Episodes" and "DVD-R non-porn" categories.
The classification "Gay Themed" or not being more difficult than mainstream, with a good chance of error without having seen the movie will need more deep in detail review and therefore time.
-
Do we have an estimate of when the new rules will be apply? I've seen a few recent TV shows upload that would not past the new restrictions.
Going to really miss seeing Dieux Du Stade on this site. They are not always readily available elsewhere.
-
The new rules are in force.
All submitted material must have GAY THEMED CONTENT or involve VOYEURISM of the MALE PHYSIQUE . Gay-interest, an openly gay actor or minor gay characters are insufficient to meet this requirement. Do NOT upload any gay-themed movies that are released/produced by mainstream cinema / TV studios. Examples of voyeuristic material include bodybuilding, wrestling and underwear/swimwear.
There is still some housekeeping needed though on the library of torrents. There is as well ongoing work on the definition of mainstream cinema and TV studios.
In case you see a torrent which for you isn't fitting into that rule and not tagged ~ms, ~ms? or ~ng, please Report it.
