Deleted torrents?
-
Hi, just wondering why El Rancho got deleted. Sometimes when my torrents turn "red" I just need to re-download the torrent itself and start seeding again. It's no big deal - I still have it, after all - I was just curious.
Also is there a place we can look to see reasons why, like a Log? TIA!
-
There are many possible reasons for deleting a torrent:
- removed by the original uploader
- not seed completely by the original uploader
- dead (no activity, not seed for a while)
- found duplicate
- issues with the files ((e.g. DRM, does not play)
- found not "gay"
- DMCA Take down request by a copyright owner or it's agent
- banned
just to name some
For the one you mention, I would guess DMCA Take Down requested by Pornguardian

Well, another just went down. That's two, both very old (seeding 5+ months), different companies. Makes no sense.
-
That has nothing to do with each other. Currently our tracker is not working correctly and all torrents will turn red.

When you say: "turn red" do you you mean in the µTorrent client? I am currently experiencing this, I have about 50 torrents seeding and different ones will alternately go red, then fix themselves while yet a different one that was working will turn red, it seems to be completely random. I wasn't sure if it was a µTorrent specific problem or with the tracker, either way I have been baffled

The issue you are witnessing is most likely just an adjustment in your µTorrent client and can easily be fixed.
Open your µTorrent Preferences choose 'Queue Settings' and make sure that the value of
'Maximum number of active torrents' is higher then the amount of torrents you want to handle parallel (up- and download).
Save your new settings and you should be fine.Hope this is of any help,

Geraldthese are my settings, and this is what is happening… I have always kept the maximum torrents at 100

You should look under the "Tracker" tab while having a torrent being red selected for the tracker status message behind the tracker announce URL.
I would bet it says "unregistered torrent", because it is one of the thousands of torrents taken down following Pornguadrian DMCA Alerts.
Taking down torrents is not an easy task for the staff.

That is indeed the case: "unregistered torrent" What is going on here? I did a forum search for pornguardian and this post is the only mention of it, I see these torrents are still on the site, are these torrents actually dead now?

upon further investigation I see that all but a few of these torrents actually have been removed from the site :cry2:

If the file type and size matches, you could try the reseed procedure to join the new torrents swarms. We got a pictured guide for µTorrent/BitTorrent in the Forum.
