Vanishing torrents ...

I don't know about 5 years but here are my observation if it's helpful. something like this happened exactly a year ago and if followed similar pattern. somewhere in early September of 2021 there was a similar wave of torrent takedowns. In fact it was kind of worse, looked like a full on purge of fans content. it gained traction through autumn and people then noticed it too, you can probably find that thread. Just like now it got really bad through November, when torrents sometimes disappeared minutes after getting uploaded. The dialogue on the forum was similar to this one, some newer members were confused, prophesized the end of the world to the site, theories about bots sweeping this place, also dominant theory was that it was an actual person, no one was actually sending those DMCAs, but it was a specific mod tasked in controlling the situation. some user even theorized that he was an American living on a west coast based on the patterns and timings of deletions. An interesting development happened on American thanksgiving weekend, the crazy takedown wave suddenly stopped as if it never was. People in the thread theorized that the mod was having a thanksgiving holiday and will return after the weekend but nothing happened. I remember being quite happy after seeing the first torrents of December 2021, OF content and rips were posted as usual, and weren't taken down the very next day, the fan sites category wasn't targeted anymore. For some time I thought that it was too good to be true but no for a year everything was back to normal, from December all the way to September 2022. I started posting again after hiatus carefully categorized content, with description and everything. When the similar wave started now I was hoping there would be a similar pattern and it will all end in the end of November, my prediction almost came true when after this thanksgiving weekend the takedowns stopped and lots of OF content was posted in the last three days. But nope, this Monday the strict takedowns resumed. The last time everything turned nice again in the first day of December, if the situation will continue like this then I don't know. If this will be a new status quo of the site that would be a bummer, because after uploading terabytes of stuff I guess I will take a more passive role. This is all I remember about last years wave and my observations. There were of course always some studios that weren't allowed here, but nothing like this. Hope this is not permanent and December would be calmer.

@djsoapbubble Thank you for being a Good Samaritan. I also do it for torrents I see or download that there really is no reason to have 1 star.
At the moment in my case, I still have not gone back to mainstream uploading of individual episodes or new titles but I still upload the completed set of titles I have already started here a few days after they have ended. But of course this does no good for the community here and people will leave if they don't see a steady stream of individual titles they are interested in and would prefer to go to a better venue. This is counter productive to what I am aiming for.
I have not given up though and am still waiting for better days.

@forthepaul @rotron Yeah, I think maybe what I'll do is just lay back a while. I mean, my ratio is more than fine, and when I post things, I don't give a poot about my ratio, lol! I really don't. That is not why I share so openly. I do it out of kindness, even though what I'm doing is illegal. I don't have to if I don't want to.
I have a friend of mine who posted a lot of torrents this past weekend, and he didn't receive any notifications at all about copyright infringement. What is today? Wednesday? It was really bad yesterday. I vaguely remember Monday, lol!
Going back to @forthepaul's post, that's interesting. Since I vaguely remember Monday, I don't think I experienced my torrents being taken down. Then again, I don't really post "Only Fans" content. Sweetie, if that camera ain't movin' and doing zoom-ins and zoom-outs, I am not interested. Unless it's Boomer Banks, in which case I draw the line. Hey, Boomer! I wuv U! Call me.
Where was I? Oh, yeah. The missing torrents and the 1-star rating ogre. I think I'll take a brief vay-kay and lay low. Now I see why one member bitched about how there's nothing new and current. Instead (and this is how he coined or phrased it), everything is pre-COVID. Sheesh. That was harsh.
-
@forthepaul Well, that's quite news to me. At least now I know there's been history of what has been happening. Let's see what happens then.

the 1-star rating ogre
That little brat doesn't deserve attention. When I'm stumbling through the torrent listings and I see one with a single rating and it's one star, I'll sometimes give it a five star rating just for fun...and bingo! The average rating is now three stars.
There are indeed some rather carelessly posted torrents...things titled "Hot guys have sex" with no pictures and a file name like skrjgsghs.mp4. That might deserve one star, but I think most people put some degree of care into their torrents (some obviously more than others) and it's disrespectful to slap one star on that. I especially appreciate members whose English is rather weak, but they still make the effort to post on here.
In a world where people shoot at us in bars or, in some countries, lock us in jail, we can at least be nice to each other online.
-
@Rotron You're welcome. Laughter is the only cure against morons
-
@eobox91103 I couldn't agree more. You can be who ever you wanna be online and then so many chose to be useless idiots. So sad. Too bad the owner never got around to doing something about the trolling but i'm sure he had his hands full with more important stuff on here. And a big thank you to him and all the others working on this site.
-
I haven't seen this problem yet. Good to know about it. Thank you!

Yup, this is exactly how it happened, down to the detail of this being a person on an extremely specific schedule.
I figured they'd stop after thanksgiving again too, it seemed to me last time new years was the big stopping point. The timing of this is interesting there are probably plenty of people uploading and dumping OF accounts due to most OF creators having sales the past 2-3 weeks because of fear of Twitter going down + "Black Friday deals". I've even subbed to some I've been waiting to go on sale.
I can't even fault people for feeling like taking a break on uploading or not providing really thorough screenshots if its taken down in minutes.I know from just ripping for myself thats hours and hours of time.

@eobox91103 I think I know who it is. Then again, there are so many members that are online that perhaps I'm looking for a needle in a haystack. My intuition never fails as I'm studying his online behavior (and I've called him out on his xenophobia). His signature specialty seems to want to embarrass uploaders or ridicule them. And when people like me intervene on his b.s., he plays the victim card and then re-edits his original comment to something delightful and innocent as if he didn't have prejudice at all and reports me. Whatever. I'm on to him, lol! I'm studying his algorithms. No, I'm just kidding about the algorithms part, but I am watching to see if he happens to be online when I see these trails of 1-stars down the board. No, I don't have a lot of time on my hands, but it's easy to do a quick lookup at the list of online users though.
-
@djsoapbubble I love it when you call them an "argumentative 1-star troll" lol
-
Well, it's the first days of December and this thing is sadly still going on. Exactly a year ago at this time it was all hunky dory and new torrents were added like usual. Shame. Dunno what happened that time, what miracle stopped it, maybe it was an actual strict mod that got tired of working, or actually a disgruntled user, like some people around here think it is, and he was found and deleted for trolling. But it's definitely a person, no way that it is all actually sent DMCA claims from real representatives. I say it because the way stuff is deleted is kind of random, almost like a person is picking and choosing. The goal is not to delete all OF stuff but just keep its quantity to a minimum. Like if 10 torrents are uploaded to fan pages category back to back, 8-7 will be deleted but some will remain. Smaller torrents that only contain 1 file in them are not 100% safe but have higher chance of staying. It's kind of different from last year where the vibe was to eliminate everything that was posted in a FS category ever, going from newest posted to oldest. But I guess that would've cause the downfall of a site and render the category useless. Here there is a visibility that you can still post without being deleted. The fact is that the CRAZY purge of last year was gone by now, while this new more SUBTLE purge is still going on.
Reeeealy hoping that this is not a new status quo and an unnamed policy, and after some Xmas miracle we'll return to normal. I mean we did have 9 calm, unproblematic months of peace right. -
@forthepaul It seems that only white OF content creators are being deleted really quickly. The rest does get deleted but not as fast.
-
@dilemmax LOL! It's true!
But, it is him though. I didn't want to make allegations, but yeah, it's him as he's made it way too easy. He'll complain and whine about screenshots (or lack, thereof, not even knowing if there were wonky complications if the uploader was using QuickTorrentMaker or not). Hey. Things happen that are absolutely out of our control, you know? His profile once had the Italian flag and now he's French all of a sudden. I guess his grand voyage from Italy to France, or from Italy to Sweden, and then from Sweden to France, he wasn't able to see that Middle Easterners actually do live in Europe. Hahaha! He's got some major beef, dawg.
Going back to the vanishing torrents, one torrent that I uploaded several weeks ago was reported for copyright stuff. I had a friend of mine send me a message via Telegram that it was listed as a popular torrent which I was like, "Daaaaang!" I don't do it for that reason, but I was flattered. And yesterday, it ALL got destroyed. Well, at least some people got to download it, so if this treachery and betrayal are being done so single-handedly, I will say a prayer to the torrent porn gods, and they will relinquish their evil powers.
Sigh. If only I believed in voodoo (I'm kidding. I'm just being a fun goof).
-
@forthepaul Then I DO wonder if it is who I suspect. Ugh, god. Okay, how would the DMCA thing work?
DMCA.com will accept reports of copyright infringement/stolen content for the rights holder who is a DMCA.com client. Internet users often are the best source to locate copyright infringement. Every day DMCA.com receives emails and information about stolen content.
So, how does one become a DMCA client? Is it like an exclusive social party? Do they serve Hors D'oeuvres?

a thing about a torrent being deleted after being on the Most popular Torrents front page. It's a whole other thing that has been going on even longer now and I'm surprised no one brought it up until now. Maybe they didn't notice that pattern yet, deserves a separate thread on here.
So here's another observation: It was kind of going on from August. If your Torrent gets to the most popular torrents list it is basically guaranteed to be deleted with a DMCA takedown, like 90% chance. Even if it's not the usual type of torrent that gets terminated. Like studio stuff from Cockyboys and Men or SC that has been consistently uploaded here. If they appear on top torrents list they usually stay there for a week, maybe slightly more but after that, when the moment comes when they usually disappear from the list to give space to newer torrents, it is deleted completely. If someone reposts exactly the same torrent the same day and it won't get on the list it will most likely not get deleted. Sometimes when ancient torrents from like 2014 or earlier get reseeded and appear as new on the page, if they get on the Top page share similar fate, definitely no one actually cared to report those. Before it was like a wall of honor but now it's like a spotlight to get deleted. The funniest one was when someone posted 4 pages from legit Batman comics when there was nudity, it was on Top page but in like 2 weeks vanished, I'm sure DC publishers aren't searching for 4 pages of their 40 pages comics on porn sites. This ordeal started before the fan sites content purge. Stuff from popular studios is posted as usual and will stay if they won't get on top page. This is either a weird automated glitch or another cleaning tool that went out of control. -

This is true and this very well true for all of us here and this is why GayTor should be purged of these traitorous Internet users. We don't deserve to be in the same ship as them. Isn't GayTor a private ship?

I really don't buy that at all lol. (I want to type something here about a certain category used instead of fansite that stays up longer but don't want to hurt any uploaders. Just check around yourself)
To top it off they'd need to be uploaded at a nearly equal rate to even make that statement and having seen the things uploaded to this site even when we don't have someone reporting torrents 7 days a week, was never the case.
Fansites are heavily targeted by the entity we're discussing, some fetish sites with really expensive clips like wrestling (which sadly don't stay up long enough to see which actually have sex) and jockfootf**tasy (I cannot believe their clips go up to 50 bucks a piece!) are hyper aggressive even without the help of this fansite person.
Ive had plenty of creators who are non white open in tabs to download later deleted lol, and it usually hurts more because I know unlike brandts boys they won't be uploaded every single day of the week.
-
@Rotron Yeah, someone is definitely up in this crib, alright. It's close to Christmas time, and last Christmas, the owner et al., deleted or got rid of a ton of online users who either hadn't:
- Hadn't logged in to the site for a considerable amount of time.
- Members whose ratio was less than 1.0 or who hadn't uploaded or downloaded anything at all.
It's Christmas cleaning time, and in my humble opinion, it's time to keep this by invitation only. I may ward off the headache. Ultimately, it's up to them of course.
By God, even a Ho Desert Knights torrent was taken down, and it was a freeleech and had been originally uploaded several years ago.

Lol i just witnessed one of the daily wipes after sorting through which I wanted, so I can safely confirm they are being FAR more aggressive than even the Wrestling site take down requests, which is NUTS.
