Unable to upload anything since today
-
Though I've uploaded dozens of torrents by now, I suddenly get unable to continue… 🤯
Any attempt to upload pictures produces an error message.
Same thing when hitting the “do it” button”.
Has something changed with the server settings?! -
YES ...
Give time to review the ff link I provided for you to understand what causes:

What is 500 Internal Server Error in NGINX ??? ...
NGINX gives 500 Internal Server Error when there is a server-side error that prevents NGINX from returning a proper response. It can be due to many different reasons such as faulty script, missing files referenced by code, inadequate file permissions, etc. NGINX is typically used as a reverse proxy server, so the most common reason for 500 Internal server is an error in one of its web servers like Apache that has encountered an issue and returned a 500 error response to NGINX, which is then returned to client browsers. There are various ways to fix internal server error in NGINX.SOURCE: https://ubiq.co/tech-blog/fix-500-internal-server-error-nginx/

@Douseikekkon It is quite possible that your ISP is blocking you. Try using a VPN such as NordVPN or Privado. They all have a 30 day money back guarantee, so if it does not fix your problem, you can get your money back. Nord is currently $2.60 per month.

Thanks for your suggestions, which I read (or had already read) but nothing seems to help.
I've restarted my computer after a deep cleaning (removing the application caches, etc.) but nothing has changed.
I've reduced the size of the pictures to something as ridiculous as 10 kB but still get the same 500 Internal Server Error.
Same thing happens if I provide only the torrent file and no pics (some uploads exist here & there which, despite the rules, don't have any pic at all).I will add that I subscribed in 2015, have posted many many torrents, and also added pics to other's torrents; thus I'm not a complete newbie, but what happens today is quite unprecedented to me.
There's some likelihood that the server has some bugs or that inner settings have been recklessly changed.
I'm going to wait a few days, wait and see… -
@lololulu19
My ISP (free.fr) is not known for doing such things AFAIK.
On the other hand every other functionality of the site behaves perfectly: I can download .torrent files, display all available pages, perform searches, etc.
I have no problem at seeding & leeching (via Transmission.)The sole issue is at uploading images and .torrent files, which drives the server nuts.
As a matter of fact, I was considering lately the use of a VPN; I'll give it a try.
Probably Nord. -
@Douseikekkon I've been having the same problem with this error. I have posted many torrents before but just today I cannot upload images
-
This is a known issue, but in the mean time, please try uploading JUST one picture at a time. You are able to add more photos once it's uploaded.
Only downside of this workaround is that it requires a moderator to approve the additional photos but everyone on the staff can handle picture approvals so it shouldn't be too long.
Sorry for the inconvenience

@DandyLion I wonder if older versions of QTM might not have the SAME problem (although obviously the older versions have some problems that have been resolved in the newest version).
I forget.. but have has he tried renaming the pictures he is trying to upload before attaching them? Sometimes, there are non-standard characters that screw things up. Even if it LOOKS like standard characters, there are some characters which look the same as standard characters.. but are NOT.
I have a funny story about that... there is a character other than a space that is completely invisible. There was a streaming website 20 years ago that allowed that non-standard invisible character. I changed my name to three of these invisible characters.. such as " " I would message the performers.. and they would go crazy trying to figure out WHO was messaging them. They did not figure out a way to fix that glitch for several years. The site with the glitch is the same site that eventually became Flirt4Free. -

I'm having the same problem. I tried uploading with just one picture, as you recommend, but I still got the same error. Anything else to try or should I just give up for now?

Unfortunately, even the upload of one single picture gets impossible.
The upload of zero picture + one torrent file results in the same 500 Error.
The upload of any single picture to an existing torrent (by another user) produces the same error…I also can see that user @blah12345678 above seems to have the same issue, more or less the same day it happens to me…
-
@Douseikekkon : It started happening to me, as well. I finally did manage to upload a torrent just a few minutes ago, though. What ended up working for me was three things:
-
Only upload one picture and make that picture less than 100k.
-
Log in to gaytorrent.ru and do the torrent upload from that site rather than from gaytor.rent.
-
Patience and multiple tries. It took half a dozen attempts but finally persistence paid off and I managed to upload a torrent.
Good luck! And here's hoping the site will fix this because I won't go through this again.

Here's a little trick that I do:
Close all other running application program and exit your torrent client,
while posting multiple images [pictures/thumbnails] not to exceed 500-250 KB or less in sizeexample :
[I normally add screenshots and screen covers when I wanted to with 20 pics] ...
[not to exceed 20 images if you are in doubt of size] and resume application after when uploading succeeded and completed to prevent any incoming error and outgoing issues ...REMEMBER:
Upload/download task while active eats a lot of memory source while in process ... -
@NF16
I've finally managed to upload one torrent on gaytorrent.ru just now.
A real pain in the @ss
A new thing to me was that Error 413 - Entity too large, which I hadn't met before.
The behaviour of the server is erratic since I could upload some 2 MB pictures, while others at 120 kB were refused!After uploading the first pic, I pressed the “do it!” button, then I added other pictures (3 of them are in limbo by now).
-
@Douseikekkon The video is titled "A real pain in the ass"? didn't they use lube?
-
@lololulu19
Ha ha!
By the way, I've subscribed to NordVPN today (a 2-year subscription @ 101 €), which solved nothing at all here.
Worst: while the VPN was active, my torrent client Transmission was like a zombie since the listening port was closed. I spent hours trying to configure the router, looking for advice on the net. In vain.
Thus I asked for a refund… (Hoping they will oblige.) -
@Douseikekkon what operating system are you using?
-
@lololulu19
I'm on macOS 10.13.6 “High Sierra” (and Transmission 2.94).
Believe me, I've really spent hours this saturday googling for explanations on various forums but could not get the stuff to work.
I suspect that NordVPN is designed to download torrents, but not upload.
I'll probably continue with no VPN, after all… -
@Douseikekkon I have this problem, too.
-
Can anyone tell me how to solve it?
