Dump Utorrent / Bittorrent for Qbittorrent utility
-
I uploaded this EXTREMELY useful utility to safely and quickly copy all of your Utorrent or Bittorrent information into Qbittorrent.
At the moment, it's stuck in the "DEAD" files, and I can't get it to go active.
Here is the link:

@lololulu19 Thanks for that. I wished I knew about Qbittorent sooner. It's so much better than uTorrent and no ads!

@dilemmax Yes.. apparently the people who developed Utorrent.. have left the building.. and it is now plagued with problems that will never be fixed, and they will never go to 64 bit.. and they don't give a damn.
Luckily, the open source Qbittorrent can't die, because it is open source, and they "borrowed" quite a bit of the features of Utorrent, only in Qbittorrent, the client does not lock up, does not have disk cache overloads, doesn't take several minutes to load, does not lose files, etc.
Qbittorrent is not perfect yet, but it is far superior to Utorrent.
I was terrified to run this utility that copied everything in utorrent (bittorrent) over to Qbittorrent. I am happy to say, that it did the job far better than my expectations!
What I did, is after copying all the stuff from Utorrent over to Qbittorrent, I removed all the torrents from it (be careful that you don't also remove the data!) And I was left with just one file that refused to go away - because Utorrent is buggy. Everytime I removed it, it came back within seconds. To get rid of that one last file, I looked at the file "resume.dat" to find out the location of that 1 torrent was on my hard drives, manually deleted that torrent, then deleted the resume.dat file (and all resume.* files) and then rebooted. That finally cleansed my utorrent client of everything.
Now, if I want to download a torrent seperate (or a duplicate download) to my Qbittorrent, I just click on the torrent and tell it to "open with Utorrent"
Additionally, after combining all of my Utorrent files into my Qbittorrent, I am now running a duplicate file finder, and because all my torrents are in one client, I can safely delete all duplicates, and I have saved 500 GB so far by doing that!

@dilemmax don't feel too bad about not knowing about Qbittorrent sooner... because they have made massive improvments to it in 2021. Before then, it had some problems.

@lololulu19 I know I'm picky. So far, the function I miss from uTorrent is being able to start downloading all torrents by by right-clicking from "Downloading". You can't do that on Qbittorent.

@dilemmax I think this is the setting you are looking for?
