Can I get into any trouble for sharing let's say OF content from an account that has never been uploaded here before? I guess the question really is: Can I somehow get traced and sued over sharing copyrighted content here? I know P2P sharing isn't illegal per se, but sharing a link to it may be?

I'd like to know how legally safe it is to upload content here. Thank you in advance 🙂

Any time you use torrents, whether it's to upload a new torrent, or to download and seed an existing torrent, your IP address can be seen in the peers pool. Depending on where in the world you are, this can sometimes result in a copyright notice being sent to your provider, which can be handled in a number of ways. In order to avoid this, I recommend the use of a VPN such as Private VPN, which supports port forwarding, in order to hide your IP address.

As well, if you're uploading content from a site, you must also be careful, as many sites use a watermark so that when it is shared, they can tell which user account from their system originally shared the content, regardless of the site it is shared to. You always need to be careful about things like this when uploading a torrent.
