New Design
-
sorry to be a negative nancy, but i'm not a fan of the new layout. as others have said, i don't want to view all thumbnails by default, and the torrent search page shows a lot less torrents on the screen at once. it almost feels as if i have my browser zoomed in, which i don't enjoy
-
The new website looks great, good job!
Only thing thats annoying is in the browse torrents page, when people upload a torrent with one of those really long pictures (a bunch of pictures stacked vertically) and you have to keep scrolling down to see the picture then scroll back up again
But i doubt this can be changed unless people stop uploading those types of pics.
Either way the new site looks much better -
I like some of the changes, but add me in as one of those who finds the addition of thumbnails next to the torrents unwieldy. Being able to turn that off was very useful.
The only other issue I have is with opening pictures while looking at a torrent, which now opens a new window in Firefox. I thought I knew what value to uncheck to turn that off as well, since I preferred the old method, but it didn't change it back.
Other than that, the option to change colour schemes would be nice, but is hardly essential.

Hi,
The design is cool but is there a way to disable pics of torrents movies when we're searching? I like some fetish stuff but some other stuff in that category shock me. With this new design, it's hard to look away even if i try reading the title before… so it'll be great if we could disable all those pics and keep the mouseover thing.
-
The page looks nice BUT, this design it's not discrete. I browse this page on my work breaks and I can't do that with this. I tried turning off the thumbnails but they appear again when you go back to the search page.
Again, it's a nice design but you need to give the chance of No preview pics on the main search page, for discretion purposesThanks

I like the new top bar with better displayed stats but I don't like the new search at all. The new search is too hard on the eyes with all the thumbnails showing, especially of categories you aren't interested in, and alot slower too. I liked the old search better where I can quickly skim down the descriptions and mouse over a title if it looked interesting.

I use a laptop for the site, and I always go to Search, so I can’t comment on Browse.
i didn't spend much time into the browse module yet.. still working on search/details
Yes, it does seem redundant that you can see the thumbnails and also hoover over the title and see the same pics pop up, but what I’ve found is that while glancing down the list, a thumbnail will catch my eye, and I’ll say to myself “Hmmm… that could be interesting, but I can’t really tell.” Then I will hoover over the title to see the picture pop-up (which is usually a bit bigger) and then decide if I want to open the torrent page. Perhaps the way to get rid of this redundancy is to drop the “picture pop-up when hoovering” function, and make it so that if we hoover over a thumbnail it will pop-up individually? I hope I explained that clearly. Not sure if it’s feasible with your software, but it’s an idea.
this part will be reworked.. if you see the thubnails, hovering the titles will do "nothing" or maybe show the full description.
hovering a single pic, will enlarge it a little for better viewing. but just this single pic. and clicking on it opening the picture viewer with this individual pic activated…I have to second what some previous commentators have said about descriptions and the mini-scroll bar. Accidentally scrolling those, instead of the page as a whole, seems to be happening a lot, and is frustrating. I would suggest getting rid of those mini-scroll bars and if a description is longer than the space allocated on the page, well, then cut it there; someone who is interested in the torrent can open that page and read the full description. The idea of the Search page is to offer a teaser, so that the viewer will become interested and open the torrent page. Joker, you have mentioned a toggle to make the view extended or not; this would also be a good solution.
this was somehow a quick fix or test… i rethink this
I also find the search page bulky because I can’t see many entries in one glance. But on the other hand, I do like some of the changes that make each entry clearer and more readable. I’m not sure how to reconcile these two opposite things.
only switches to change the view will fix it…
@ben351500:- On the search page the “number of files” is not grammatically correct when there is only one file. It reads: “1 Files.” Should be, of course, “1 File.” This has no effect on functionality, but I thought I’d mention. It.
i can not find it.. you talk about search or the (pic)browser?
- When finishing a report on a duplicate torrent, the last line says something along the lines of “If this is true, you will get 50 seed bonus points.” Using the word “true” implies that it’s opposite is “a lie” and that if the report is not the truth, it is a lie which then makes the reporter a liar. Might I suggest using the word “accurate” instead? There is no judgement if something is inaccurate, but there is if it is a lie. Small thing, I know, and completely unimportant, but like I said, I’m an editor…
thanks for clearing this up for me. Im of course not natively speak english.. so if you see stuff like that, let me know
Lastly, Joker, I want to say that I don’t hold much truck with folks who complain about how great the suffering it is to have to make one more click and angrily threaten to revert to the old layout or stop using the site entirely. A learning curve can be a little frustrating at first, especially in software (Microsoft anyone?), but it is exactly that: A LEARNING CURVE. Once people get used to it, they won’t even think about the changes anymore. So keep on making the changes that you feel will help modernize the site and make it a better place. Ignore the bitchy comments, consider all the good feedback, and carry on. You won’t be able to please everybody all the time. You’re doing great.
i do love  the peeps… so i try my best.. but i like your thoughts about the LEARNING CURVE
sorry folks, that i force you to learn something new !! :crazy2: -
I would respectfully disagree. Many commercial webmasters like to make periodic changes to give a new "look and feel," but there's no need to fix something if it isn't broken. The new frozen pane at the top of the windows is a welcome feature, but I don't see much advantage to many of the other changes. I suggest an approach of, "What do we need to fix?" and then fix it…not "What can I change for the sake of change?"
I have plans that you may not recognize yet. I'm not changing the website because I'm bored. I see that almost half of the hits on this website come from mobile devices. This was really not foreseeable in 2006. But I just can't keep ignoring it now. Try to "update" some software from that time. Many things that used to run in the past don't work just because of updates. I cannot stop Chrome, Firefox and others from updating the software and standards as well. Is that why you shouldn't update anything? Like, never touch a running sytem ? This maybe work at home at your desktop. But not for a site like this.
Hello dear members,
Again a new day begins for me and I am happy about your numerous feedback. Even though some of you may not always be so understanding of my changes, I am confident that in the end I will satisfy most of you.Currently I have left you, with the so-called "Extended View". Sorry for this, but every now and then I need a break. I've been sitting at my computer more than 14 hours a day without interruption for the last week and I can't really take a break. This would only delay everything even further.
Some people like what they see and a few others find it simply too much information. Now please just wait for the next version. There you can change the view in real time. These settings will remain constant until you change them again. Also on your next visit. So everyone can customize the user interface to his needs.
With the menu you will probably have to get used to the fact that it will be a little different in the future. I personally don't like this colorful thing from back-in-the-days anymore. And it's really technically not up to date anymore. There won't be any more switching back and forth !!!! this is only possible now, so that during breaks in development, the site doesn't stand still here. But THEN it is over. So I would get used to it.
I read your feedback carefully and take it into consideration as best I can. You will notice this with the next update ! At least those of you who follow this topic here.

Some more icons I made

-
I think it is very neat and I haven't encountered any problems on a Opera browser.
-
This has already been said, but I wanted to add a voice to the long picture complaint. I only ever use the Browse page, and in the previous version the pictures were always limited to a manageable rectangle, EVEN when they were actually a super long picture in reality. Now that whole picture is shown, which makes browsing way harder.
Also, on Chrome hovering over the info icon usually puts the info box too high, so I can't read most of it, as it's off screen.
-
The new design is fine. However, I switched to the old design because I live in a house with others and use gaytorrent.ru on a big old desktop and don't like them seeing the pictures large and upfront on my monitor.
-
First of all, congratulations for the new design. Overall it looks nicer and modern than the old one.
There are two things though I dislike and have already been mentioned by other people:- The long thumbnails on the browse view;
and - The thumbnails size on the search view (maybe they can be smaller with overing?) wich also makes every record "stripe" to much taller to be confortable, in my opinion.
I do have a question: on search view why there are some records light green and others dark green? I Didn't find the answer for this…
Thanks for all your effort and keep the good work.

"True" primarily means factual or consistent with reality. The opposite of "true" is "false". It is not true that everything that is not true is a lie.

You are probably already aware of this, but you can turn off straight, bisexual, and scat categories on your profile page. I have scat turned off because I don't want to see photos of it unexpectedly, either, especially when I'm snacking while browsing.

Looks good, at least so far. A lot of redesigns seem to cause more problems then before but this looks to be fairly clean.
an incredible 279 users have switched back to the old version. probably because the font was too small in the beginning? It's a pity that they don't get in touch here why. In a future version (where also this forum will get a huge version jump forward) there will be no way to activate the old design. i can't please everybody, but i'll try my best. So give me your feedback, and as exactly as possible what is not as good as before in the new version, so i can work on it.
Well I find I am quite used to the old roster, where you would see the category ( or sort the category, then go by studio or title,… Then, if it suited me, I could drag my mouse over it for the images ( if any ) and take a quick look before opening the link. Now, if I accept the newer layout, all is in preview and somewhat hard to see ( as I get older perhaps), and I'm thinking, it's no great improvement. However, regardless of my personal tastes, if these layouts cause less server pressure then I'm all for them. For me, since the data has been obtained arguably from dubious sources, staying afloat and running as efficiently as possible, is priority here.
My two dangly bits,

we'll see if I get used to it. but I liked the old design. nothing was wrong with it. this is too "Web 2.0" unnecessary

It just me or the photos on the torrent page is very big?? Even the information like size and torrents is off. Reply to me guys

Never mind about this. I just looked it up on the new version, and there doesn't seem to be a problem. I guess I was thinking about the old layout. Just to be clear though, I was referring to Search.
It seems that the majority of people don't like the thumbnails. While I personally like the feature, it's not vitally important to me, and getting rid of them would help solve the the problem of how few entries are visible on the screen at one time. I like the idea of having an option of which type of view we can have.
Are you currently in Brazil? If so please be very careful and stay safe.
