Does anyone else experience being attracted to a certain type that you also want to look like yourself? It's like "I want to fuck you, but I also want to be you". In other words, the characteristics you are attracted to in other men is also what you want to look like yourself?

If this is common then I imagine this is why some partners look a lot like each other. They type of person they want to look like is also who they are attracted to.

I found that as time goes by, it's a little bit of both, but not always. I mean, sure I'd love to be ripped or taller, but too lazy lol.  But that's not my only type, and even though I love big guys too (heck, I married a teddy bear ) I don't think I wanna be big myself

I sometimes have this thought in the back of my mind. If I'm really attracted to someone, and their style seems to grab my attention, I'll mimic them(through an expression of flattery) in one way or another. In my case, it would be wearing a nice button down oxford cloth shirt, lol.

Can't say I'm copy paste dater. I'm attracted to a mix of people. It just depends on the person. Saw the pic on IG. So many guys stated they were called out.

Yes, in a self confident way and not narcissistic  way.

Basically no need to compare who's better than who, who's richer than who.
Unfortunately in the real world, most people are choosy and age, size, status comparisons are the norm.

                  I like to talk dirty.

Ha. The pic is perfect. Although I definitely wouldn't want to be that similar.

For myself it's more about features – like being attracted to bearded and hairy men and also wanting to be bearded and hairy myself (thank you genetics!), like not the exact same but just shared features. Perhaps similar looking but not like we could be siblings or we're actually copying each other.

                      I've always wondered about this.

I once talked to a professional gay matchmaker about a similar issue.  He told me that it is nothing more than "like attracts like".  I used to see this as a narcissistic egomaniac thing, but the more I think about it, the whole thing makes sense.  If I have self confidence and believe I look good, why am I not going to find people who look like me / as good as me attractive?

The whole concept sadly works against me.  I'm 36.  I have always been interested in younger guys, but younger guys never found me all too attractive.  When I was in college, I didn't have much confidence.  I didn't look all too great either.  Now that I am older.  I'm a lot more wise and self aware.  Sadly, guys that are my type only want others guys that are my type.  At the end of the day I can try my best to at least meet them halfway, but the reality is.. I'll never be them.

The better question is…  We all know that not everyone ends up with someone they believe is drop dead gorgeous.  So, for those of you who are the least attractive of the pair, what is it that you did to break down that barrier and get your type to give you a chance?

No really… I guess I fall in love with the person, his physical appearance and his personality... We all tend to look for someone we match with, but in my case I do not look for someone "similar to me" or something like that.

I'm in the same boat, even a similar age (I'm 34). I'm into younger twinky guys and I really wish I could go back to being a young twinky guy and leave the closet instead of waiting as long as I did haha. Like you, I also notice most of the guys who are my type tend to be into guys similar to them, so it kind of sucks for me.

I don't have any answer for this, obviously, but just wanted you to know you're not alone haha.

Yes; young, skinny and a bit girlish, but tops.
