@RainbowCloud:
I've always wondered about this.
I once talked to a professional gay matchmaker about a similar issue. He told me that it is nothing more than "like attracts like". I used to see this as a narcissistic egomaniac thing, but the more I think about it, the whole thing makes sense. If I have self confidence and believe I look good, why am I not going to find people who look like me / as good as me attractive?
The whole concept sadly works against me. I'm 36. I have always been interested in younger guys, but younger guys never found me all too attractive. When I was in college, I didn't have much confidence. I didn't look all too great either. Now that I am older. I'm a lot more wise and self aware. Sadly, guys that are my type only want others guys that are my type. At the end of the day I can try my best to at least meet them halfway, but the reality is.. I'll never be them.
The better question is… We all know that not everyone ends up with someone they believe is drop dead gorgeous. So, for those of you who are the least attractive of the pair, what is it that you did to break down that barrier and get your type to give you a chance?
I'm in the same boat, even a similar age (I'm 34). I'm into younger twinky guys and I really wish I could go back to being a young twinky guy and leave the closet instead of waiting as long as I did haha. Like you, I also notice most of the guys who are my type tend to be into guys similar to them, so it kind of sucks for me.
I don't have any answer for this, obviously, but just wanted you to know you're not alone haha.
