Their own kind – men? Then certainly, yes.
In a broader sense, this could encompass physical type, age type, skin type/cultural affiliation, socioeconomic status, general interests, sexual interests...
I've met as many men who prefer "quite similar" as those who prefer "quite different" when all those factors are tallied...
