In UK "grooming gangs" are priming young British girls for sex trafficking.

(looking at the group of mug shots on the front page of the article)
Hmm, if there were only something they all had in common. Too bad for the UK that there is no common denominator in these crimes. What do you all think? I can't see a pattern.

That's racist. You can't assume that all Muslim people are doing that. What do you want them to do throw everyone with brown skin out of the country.
-
Do you mean like how the Labour government allowed this to go on for over 10 years so they wouldn't look racist?
It was young white girls being victimized, so it was ok to let it continue rather than stopping it immediately because the guilty were mostly from Pakistan.

Looking at the 18 photos, described as 17 men and ONE woman, I had to search a minute to find that butch one, bottom right corner. And the only Anglo. I wonder if she played a special role in their "supply chain model." Sickening, in any event.
I don't think it's racist to point out that many crime syndicates are formed along ethnic, racial and/or religious lines. From that perspective, do Asians/Muslims represent a higher proportion of all known child-sex trafficking gangs? I'd like to see some research data (in this case, for England) to figure that out. Anyone?

I heard about this for the first time while listening to an episode of Sam Harri's podcast (one of the best podcasters out there, imho). The person he interviewed echoed what raphjd said below, that the perpetrators were largely from Pakistan and the rest immigrants from other muslim majority countries.
My own assumption is that how Muslims (especially men) view women and sex is antithetical to the west. An analogous example is clitorectomies and female circumcisions. Christians don't do this. Caucasians don't do this. The idea that a woman should be mutilated comes from a certain reading of the Koran and therefore the perpetrators can only be Muslim – and that is neither racist (Islam is not a race), nor Islamaphobic.
Are there studies? I wonder. There's a lot of resistance in analyzing people by race and religion. To me, it's common sense and a good reason to limit immigration from these countries.

MP Jack Straw got in trouble for repeating what several of the rapists said; that white girls are trash.
Somehow repeating their own words was racist and islamaphobic.

A study of the arrested should be public record and a good foundation for developing statistics – I would hate to think that such fact-finding would be scuttled by some PC nonsense. Knowing more about the perpetrators -- whether they are Norwegians, Bolivians, Muslim or Wiccan -- could be a valuable tool in shutting it down.
As far as limiting immigration, it reminds me of Trump's travel ban, which, no matter how it's organized, strikes me as very porous, and who's to say it's not inciting fanatics that live in the countries "next door?". Hmm.
