Where is the healthcare? There ought to be healthcare.. Trump promised us..
-
Well.. Congress failed on healthcare again, so that's it right?
WRONG!
President Trump is going to put his OWN healthcare plan in place which is good for one year with an Executive Order!
That will tie madam101's ovaries in a knot.

So he is going to solve healthcare with an executive order? You are ok with this?
We have been over this. "Selling across state lines" isn't a real concept. It's dead on arrival. Doctors won't do it. Insurers won't do it. It's not going to happen.

Trump signing an executive order is a genius move: If the order is overturned he can fault whichever branch or judiciary strikes it down (the members of which will be democratic). If the insurance companies challenge it in court, they become even more the villain. If it sticks, then Trump is seen as a hero to his base.
We've already seen this play with the EO excluding people from – What was it? -- nine Muslim majority countries. The base loved him for it, the opposition used it as fuel against him.

Here are some of Trumps statements on Executive Orders.
“You know, it’s supposed to be negotiated. You’re supposed to cajole, get people in a room, you have Republicans, Democrats, you’re supposed to get together and pass a law. [Obama] doesn’t want to do that because it’s too much work. So he doesn’t want to work too hard. He wants to go back and play golf.”“The country wasn’t based on executive orders,” said Trump at a town hall in South Carolina in February 2016.
“Right now, Obama goes around signing executive orders. He can’t even get along with the Democrats, and he goes around signing all these executive orders. It’s a basic disaster. You can’t do it.”
“The problem with Washington, they don’t make deals. It’s all gridlock. And then you have a president that signs executive orders because he can’t get anything done. I’ll get everybody together.”
“He doesn’t work the system. That is why he signs executive orders all the time because he can’t get his own people to go along.”
“Right now, we have an executive-order president. He just keeps signing.”
“Why is @BarackObama constantly issuing executive orders that are major power grabs of authority?”
“I hate what Obama does with gun legislation. He doesn't talk to anybody. He goes out and signs executive orders. In theory you're supposed to the old fashioned way, get everybody into a room and get something people agree on.”
“I don't think [Obama] even tries anymore. I think he just signs executive actions.”
“Nobody wants to listen to [Obama], including the Democrats, so he just goes around signing executive orders.”

Exactly. That is why executive orders are a LAST resort for Trump.. while they were the FIRST resort for Obama.
Congress failed to come up with ANY healthcare legislation, so Trump has to do it himself. Trump has said the legislature should do it, not an executive order.. but since the legislature didn't do it and there is no more time, Trump has to do it. -
@aadam101, yeah, Trump said all those things. He said a lot of things.
@Frederick, Trump started off his presidency with a number of EO's. The forthcoming EO about healthcare will be as you said, a last option from a do-nothing/deadlocked Congress and Senate.
Most people accept that what a person says before they are elected into public office isn't an indication of how they're going to govern. The Alabama rally Trump recently spoke at, which started this last NFL spat, is a good example. In calling the NFL kneelers "sons of bitches" he was speaking only to his base and that is what his base came to hear.
Trump has repeatedly said that his being able to change his tone is an asset, something that makes him different from his predecessors. He said this when asked about the tone of three different speeches over Veteran's Day.
Ultimately, it's pointless to pull quotes to show Trump's hypocrisy because you can do that to/with anyone. We've all contradicted ourselves, we're just not all on a global stage with video proof and opposition to rub our faces in it.

Why doesn't he try to make a deal? That's what he claims to be good at.

Trump is different. He promised us that he wasn't a politician and he wouldn't behave like one. For the last nine months all we have seen is him copying everything Obama did.
The black guys peacefully protesting are "son of bitches" but the white Nazis are "fine people"….....tell me again he isn't a racist.....

I don't think that he is a politician. Would a politician Tweet? Does a politician call another countries leader Rocketman? Very little in how Trump has run his presidency has been like a typical politician and he's loudly criticized for it.
I don't understand what you mean by Trump is copying Obama. Trump does seem to be undoing everything Obama did, however.
Trump isn't racist and I'll explain why:
I'm going to assume you're younger than I am. I'm 48. When I came out way back in the mid 80's if and when you saw any news about Gay Pride marches you saw NAMBLA (North American Man-Boy Love Association) under whatever headline the newspapers or TV stations chose. That deliberate association between NAMBLA and LGBT helped further a long-standing stereotype that homosexuals are pedophiles. People feared us because of that. Later, people spat on me because of that, assumed I was molested and therefore gay because of how the media chose to portray us.
When I went to my first pride parade I did see the NAMBLA float, very small and hidden away. No cheers for them, either silence or booing.
You know about what happened in NC because of what the media is showing you. The one loop I kept seeing was a few seconds of white men holding torches saying something like Jews will not replace us. Do you really believe that all of the people attending the protest about the removal of those statues were in that march? I hope this is not what you believe because like those gay pride parades back in the 80's, there were many different kinds of people walking under one umbrella. To walk together does not mean that you fly the same banners, fight the same war. So no, Trump was not a racist in saying there were good people there. What Trump meant and later clarified is that ANTIFA and NAZIs were there an that both need to be blamed.

Trump is almost forced to Tweet to get his points across. Ages ago, reporters would shout questions to President Reagan and present his responses. That doesn't happen anymore. Now fake news hacks sit there and attack Trump, twist his words, and debate him. Why should the elected president have to debate a "reporter"? If Trump did not Tweet, little or none of his points would ever be heard.
I forgot about NAMBLA, there was a Southpark episode about NAMBLA (both the man / boy group and the National Associate of Marlon Brando Look-Alikes). At the end of the episode, the Man / Boy leader asks for understanding and rights for men who want to have sex with little boys. I bet in 2020, NAMBLA will have their own political PAC supporting Elizabeth Warren or Mark Fuckaburger.

I love that episode. Cartman not being into midgets, that still makes me laugh.
Did you watch the NK epiode last week? I fell on the floor laughing.

I missed it!
Southpark is the only program left on Comedy Central that is funny and intelligent. In fact, my local cable system often shows re-runs of Southpark in place of the programming that Comedy Central churns out.
