Is there racism in the NFL? You bet your bippy there is!

13% of the US population is black. Therefore, 13% of the NFL should be black. 87% of the population is not black. Therefore for every black player in the NFL, there should be 8.7 players who are not black to be racially fair. Let's make a visual out of that…

An NFL football team has a roster of 53 players of which 13% of them should be black. That is actually 6.89 players, but for simplicity, we will say that a team should have 7 black players to be racially fair. That looks like this:

But.. that is not the case.. 70% of NFL teams are black.. that looks like this:

That is 37 of the 53 players being black.. 70%
That means that to be racially fair, 30 of the average 37 black players would need to be fired….
30 out of 37 being fired is 81%So.. for the NFL to be racially unbiased, they would have to fire 81% of the black players!
With that in mind.. how on earth can the NFL players drop to one knee and complain about racism?
So, to solve racism in the NFL, 81% of the black players need to be fired. Hmmm....
But of course, one must consider the fans.. Since 70% of the players are black, surely 70% of the fans must be black? No.. 83% of the fans are white.. which means that LESS than 17% of the fans are black. There must be some asian and hispanic fans also.Finally, there are 70% / 13% or 5.37 times as many black players as there should be.
This is extremely racist in favor of black players. There SHOULD be 7. That means if their was white racism to the same extreme as there IS black racism in the NFL, then there would be less than 2 black players per roster of 53!
Only 11 of the 53 players on a team are on the field at any time.. therefore.. you would almost never see a black person playing football!
As it stand now, the only white players you see are typically the kicker and the quarterback.Racism goes both ways. If someone says they are NOT racist, then that person must also say that 81% of the black players should be fired to be racially fair.

- Slaves were bred for strength and stamina, so a large portion of that 13% is (cough, cough) genetically superior for most sports. In a competitive market, it makes sense that a certain group would dominate.
It is unfair that the SAT's add and subtract points based on race. Racist? We'd have to state exactly how we're defining that term.

I know you're not suggesting affirmative action in sports but it would be interesting to see how that would play out. As it is already, a person of color who holds a job or place in university simultaneously earned it and was given it as charity. You can't square that circle. Sport is one of the few areas where black people earned their position (to the exclusion of whites).

That is sort of the point I was trying to make.
Blacks are more suited to play football, and their overwhelming dominance of the game reflects that… and yet.. the reason I see for the going down on one knee is racism. Seems to me that they should be the last group of people bitching about racism.In my case.. I won't even mention my academic and mental prowess, because nobody would believe it anyway. Let's just say I'm reeely smaert. So.. I got a fantastic job with a fantastic salary, etc.. right? WRONG! I got screwed over and ever again. In two instances, I took tests for government jobs. One federal, one county level. On both tests, I did extremely well - scoring 98% on the federal test and 99% on the county test. However that only got me 99 out of 100 points.. to get an interview for the job, you had to score at least 124 points. Even if I got a 100% perfect score, I still would not have ever gotten an interview. They didn't mention it BEFORE the examination.. but veterans got a 20 point bonus, certain minorities got a 20 point bonus, and handicapped people got a 20 point bonus. So, a black, veteran in a wheelchair only had to score 60 on the exam to get an interview. But forget about getting all 3 bonuses.. lets just consider one. If someone qualified for any of those 3 bonuses, that would give them 20 points. Even THAT person would not get an interview.. because even with a perfect 100% score they would still only have 120 points.. 4 short of the minimum. So, you had to qualify for at LEAST 2 of the 3 bonuses.
It infuriates me that a genius is not even considered for a job that is given to a moron because of their skin color, etc.
I have to add one more thing to that. In the private sector, they take a look at resumes. I was completely honest with my resumes.. which prevented me from getting a job. In a pile of resumes, my truth could not compete with the lies of other people. They blatantly put down degrees which they did not have, and experience they did not have, and even family members that they did not have. The businesses do NOT check resumes. I know they don't because my university does not realease a transcript unless the former student (me) makes a specific request for each business and pays a $50 fee for each transcript request. Not one business ever requested my transcripts.. nor do they request anybody else's transcript.

So is affirmative action still a thing? I learned recently about the point system in the SAT scores. (sigh – What happened to pulling yourself up by the bootstraps?) Anyway, it sounds like the fix to your problem in employment is to eliminate the affirmative action policies.
As for the NFL, perhaps most of the black protesters are boycotting because they, themselves have seen black people getting shot by cops first hand; or they feel racism because the media covers cop on black violence but not cop on white.
The rest of the people who are protesting are, in my opinion, reacting to Trump and doing what they see as politically smart in the short-term: Everyone has begun to kneel, so I should kneel, too. Mistake. Big mistake. That just leads to people in pink hats feeling smart but looking like pussies.
I think what you feel from your experiences, that is the discrimination you as a white person have personally experienced is different than the bigotry the average black person feels and that both blacks and whites are mischaracterizing what happens to them as racist. To cure a cancer you have to know exactly what kind it is. Applying a general cureall will end up killing the patient. So it is with social problems. Identifying exactly where the problems are is the key to removing the dis-ease. Would you agree?

It used to be that black people were treated like garbage by the police in the USA. But, after several decades of struggling, and marching.. there is finally equality between blacks and whites! Yes! Now White people are also treated like garbage by the police.

Exactly my feeling, things are not as they were but they are being reported by the media as though the situation throughout the US is as it was back in the 60's. A black man shooting up a church doesn't fit this narrative and so isn't reported but when a white man does it's all people talk about.
The bias in only reporting white on black crime creates ratings and makes people see the world as it isn't – racist to the core.

As for the poll, this was done several years ago across the US.
All racial groups, including blacks, said that blacks were the most racist group. In fact, more blacks said blacks were the most racist and any other race said blacks were racist.
I think it's because black are constantly told, by liberals and others, that black can never, ever be racist no matter what they do. This allows them to do things that no other group, but especially whites, can do.
