Kushner Discussed Setting Up Secret Communication Channel With Moscow

Jared Kushner, President Donald Trump’s adviser and son-in-law, reportedly discussed opening a secret communication channel between the administration’s transition team and the Russian government, The Washington Post reported Friday.
According to the report, Kushner discussed that possibility with Russia’s ambassador to the U.S., Sergey Kislyak, in December, before Trump’s inauguration. Specifically, Kushner reportedly asked about using Russia’s diplomatic facilities to secure the channel to avoid being monitored.
That suggestion surprised Kislyak, who is widely believed to be involved with Russia’s spying operations, according to the Post:
Kislyak reportedly was taken aback by the suggestion of allowing an American to use Russian communications gear at its embassy or consulate — a proposal that would have carried security risks for Moscow as well as the Trump team.
Former national security adviser Michael Flynn, who was fired in February after he discussed U.S. sanctions against Russia with Kislyak and then lied about it, also attended the meeting, as was reported in March.
The White House didn’t immediately return a request for comment on the Post’s report.

"This raises a bunch of problematic issues. First, of course, is the Logan Act, which prohibits private individuals conducting negotiations on behalf of the US government with foreign governments," Deitz said. "Second, it tends to reinforce the notion that Trump's various actions about [fired FBI Director James] Comey do constitute obstruction."
"In other words, there is now motive added to conduct," Deitz noted. "This is a big problem for the President."

No, I don't recall, and when you have to qualify that your accusation is "pretty much" like something, it suggests you're playing a really weak hand.
As well, the topic of this thread is Jared Kushner. The discussion is centered on current news, from this Administration, that affects the immediate AND long-term protection of our democracy. Stay on the topic at hand, and if you have any relevant information about Kushner, tell us why the charges being leveled against him are in error.
Since the Kushner revelations began in earnest a few days back, you've had time to provide contrasting views from legitimate – and I repeat, legitimate -- news sources that he is not involved in these multiple Russian entanglements. Otherwise, you're "pretty much" saying nothing new.

No, they are not the same. Kushner's secure communications ideas were designed exclusively to partner with Russia, an American adversary. From Russia's perspective, this would be a huge gift, fostering secret talks in which our dummies, no doubt, would turn over even more leads and classified information (ISIS-Israel, only the start).
Meanwhile, the Trumps, believers in personal wealth above country, would have an unfettered path to illegally gain advantages for their family's present and future business dealings in Russia.
Instead of comparing apples to oranges at this early stage, let's see where Donald, Jared and the extended Trump machine end up, once the slew of investigations and hearings weigh in. There's so, so much more yet to come.

Even if we assume that the story about Kushner is true, he didn't DO anything. All it claims happened is that Kushner suggested an idea, that was not ever put into action.
Are we now criminalizing suggestions?
Here's something criminal.. Right before the election, Bill Clinton having a private conversation with the U.S. attorney general for half an hour just as the Attorney General is supposed to be deciding whether or not to file charges against his crooked wife "Slippery Hillary".
