Pepsi cucks to BLM

Who said I am white?
You did, with every single word you write.
Never had a problem with the police force either.
Yes, thanks to the old queens like me who fought for your right to be an obnoxious entitled prick.
You know, us SJWs who fought for the right to marry, the right to hold jobs, the right to assemble in gay bars, the right to cross-dress, and to not be listed as a mental disorder just for being gay.And here you are, complaining about what we did for you.
The civil rights movement of past decades made sense. There were discrepancies in the way legislation treated us, but that's not the case anymore.
No, the civil rights movement was because there were discrepancies in the way SOCIETY treated us, and that still exists. ALL laws exist to regulate how humans treat other humans.
Today's SJWs are creating faux social justice wars in order to fuel their self-serving altruistic personalities.
That is exactly what conservatives said back then, and they were wrong then, and you are wrong now.
Racism EXISTS. It did not go away just because we had a black president. Problems because of how the police respond towards black people are REAL, and those problems do not disappear just because YOU don't know about them.
And we still have problems with the cops- not as bad as in the past, but we are still discriminated against.
If a cop finds a straight couple having sex in a parked car, they get a stern talking to and are told to move on.
If a cop finds a gay couple having sex in a parked car, they get arrested for indecent exposure and lewd and lascivious behavior.
The LAWS themselves are not discriminatory- the selective enforcement IS.

OUTRAGED!!! How dare Pepsi run an ad that calls for unity and peace! We need to foment war!
That sounds like Donald Trump to me.
BLM and SJWs are like dictators who have no life on their own. They need to instigate war in order to stay relevant.
So, Donald Trump is a BLM and a SJW?
Do you even think about what you write before you write it?
Did you read the post higher in the thread that spanked your ass thoroughly for using the term "sjw" like it is a bad thing?
You should get on your knees and THANK those SJWs who are the reason you are not in prison, or a mental hospital, for being an unrepentant Sodomite.
The civil rights movement of past decades made sense. There were discrepancies in the way legislation treated us, but that's not the case anymore.

History had people like you saying EXACTLY the same thing about ACT UP and all those groups
and todays RWNJs are just internet trolls and big words behind keyboards
-
Defined by who? White liberals? Because they are the ones who think blacks are whitewashed if they don't subscribe to the victim culture.
:crap:
You are actually a white gay man who thinks there is a "victim culture", as if discrimination is completely imaginary.
Amazing.
Absolutely frickn' amazing.Next, you will say there is no such thing as homophobia, and the cops never discriminate against us either.
Who said I am white?
Never had a problem with the police force either.
Btw, victim culture is not acknowledging there is racism, but believing people in today's America are poor (or are being killed by the police) solely because of their skin colour, when the statistics don't back up that claim.
Couldn't give a shit if you were purple
and that is the point.. but you do not get it
-
You did, with every single word you write.
You just proved my point. If I don't agree with victim culture, I must be white! How dare a person of colour not subscribe to the victim culture!
Absolutely not complaining about any of that. Thank you for fighting for us.
No, the civil rights movement was because there were discrepancies in the way SOCIETY treated us, and that still exists. ALL laws exist to regulate how humans treat other humans.
There are discrepancies in the way society treats everyone. C'est la vie.
There are laws to protect people from discrimination and theoretically prevent hateful acts against individuals. It's up to each one of us to be decent human beings and prove our own worth to others. It's not anyone's obligation to like someone just because they are a woman/black/gay/etc.
That is exactly what conservatives said back then, and they were wrong then, and you are wrong now.
Today's "social justice" movement looks more like old "social justice" movements in communist countries, and these have been rejected by reason and history.
Racism EXISTS. It did not go away just because we had a black president. Problems because of how the police respond towards black people are REAL, and those problems do not disappear just because YOU don't know about them.
I never said racism does not exist.
Is there proof that gay people are more likely to be arrested for public indecency than straight people?
And for fuck's sake, are people having sex in public and seriously expecting not to be punished if they get caught?
-
Couldn't give a shit if you were purple
and that is the point.. but you do not get it
I think you are the one who doesn't understand the problem with the assumption about my skin colour.
The other member assumed I was white because of the content of my previous post.
It's a problem when people of colour are considered whitewashed if they have a different opinion – example in this thread.
-
As long as ingroup preference exists, racism will exist. And ingroup preference will always exist because both individuals and groups are both inherently selfish entities who put their own needs above others. Race is arbitrary, like gender, sexuality, nationality, religion but despite being arbitrary they are still important because we as a society make them important for selfish ends such as material acquisition or social capital between members of an ingroup.
What the issue is now that this social posturing is leading to censorship and vitriolic intolerance - which I won't abide for selfish reasons of course.

I am well aware that - for example - not every black person believes BLM is good but it is extremely rare that they would be so against it all, as you are.. or more accurately against it for the reasons you are against it
Just because we do not agree with you doesn't make us stupid

The core problem is that the ad pushes the absolutely ludicrous idea that Pepsi is the solution to all the conflicts and protests that are currently happening out there. It's manipulative in an obvious, hammer-to-the face way- with no subtlety whatsoever. Just a perfect example of very bad advertising.
That is nothing new though.
I'd like to buy the world a home, And furnish it with love.
Grow apple trees and honey bees, And snow white turtle doves.
If I could teach the world to sing, in perfect harmony,
I'd buy the world a Coke, and keep it company…Soda is just flavored carbonated sugar water, so they need to pretend it is something more significant in ads. It brings people together, it defines a generation, it makes people happy, etc.
It's a good point of comparison- one is successful because it's a hymn to sentiment- it is carried by a feeling, by emotion- and it doesn't try to oversell the product- and so it becomes a memorable jingle that sells soda on the side.
The other ad oversells the product- it positions it front and center- trying to sell the story that sharing a soda will result in cheers and peaceful protests and smiling police officers. It loses control of the narrative and thus creates a negative reaction.
That's why the Coke ad is remembered fondly many years later, while the Pepsi ad didn't last 2 days. They are worlds apart in execution.

You guys don't seem to know the difference between those who fight for Social Justice and those who are SJWs. There is a huge difference. One side stands up for the rights of others, the other side pretends to do so all while making drama and bitching about the most trivial crap…while ignoring real issues.
-

BLM and SJWs are like dictators who have no life on their own. They need to instigate war in order to stay relevant.
Is that really what you think? So if you oppose this inane ad which is less about unity and peace and more about placing Pepsi in the ridiculous position of being the solution to all these protests you are fomenting war? Â ::)
Let's get this straight- the ad failed because the messaging was just plain DUMB> if you believe that handing out a Pepsi to police officers at a protest will end the conflict and bring everyone together- you're just stupid or utterly naive and gullible. Either way, best to carry a Pepsi around then, in case you ever need to get a cop to just smile and let you go. Â

Point Taken - and to add to this - there are degrees of all of this. Its not like everyone is totally right or totally left. I think it is when EOTHER side go extreme then it is just ridiculous

I never said any of you are stupid for not agreeing with me, but I think we can agree to disagree on most things.

Uh, no. It's an ad – Pepsi is obviously not going to solve protests. And quite frankly, outside of the liberal bubble, very few people saw the 'problem' in this ad.
If the matter was 'messaging', why was Pepsi forced to recall the ad and apologize? There are plenty of stupid ads out there but I don't see companies being forced to recall & apologize just because they were 'dumb'.
SJWs have a tendency to want to ban anything they don't like or agree with. They act like the Soviets they usually speak so passionately of.

This ad for Poopsi will go down as one of the most misguided and myopic in media history. And KJ is devastated? Please, by all means, feel free to donate your entire paycheck to any charity that helps people get a leg up.

Full on SJWs are over extremists. I may see the definition of an SJW a bit different to most and need to clear that up.. i believe it is all in degrees.. both sides have ridiculous extremists - a small % that yell the loudest, that i feel spend too much time on twitter and very little time actually going outside :crazy2: - no matter what but especially in politics nothing is good in the extreme..
weirdly enough - the urban dictionary defines it quite nicely for me - what an SJW is and how it is incorrectly used to label all left side of politics who just happen to disagree
What i see as the meaning:
An abbreviation for "Social Justice Warrior", a term that once referred to a person who fights for civil rights issues not because they care, but in order to boost their own ego. Has since been commandeered by certain movements and is now typically used to mean "anyone that I disagree with", especially if said person shows any support for feminism or other progressive causes. Has become a way for some reactionary groups to pretend that they're working against some united front of progressives that are secretly controlling everything from review scores to politics, as opposed to a general shift in the public social consensus.
re: Pepsi ad:
i do not believe the ad was just "dumb" i think it completely missed its point.. they were trying to emulate the coke ad, the one quoted earlier, and used a very touchy and still raw topic.. the coke ad was more general

One side stands up for the rights of others, the other side pretends to do so all while making drama and bitching about the most trivial crap…while ignoring real issues.
In other words- there is no difference. It is all opinion, and perspective. There is a famous old quote, but I forgot from who- "when I was a kid, there were no problems with black people." From his perspective, black people rising up and protesting for equal rights was the problem. When they just lived in peace shining people's shoes there was no problem, so the "SJWs" of the time were just causing trouble.
What you think is "trivial crap" other people think is very important. You simply disagree, so you slap some ALT-right label on them and pretend there is a fundamental distinction; not realizing that as a GAY MAN, many people in the alt-right movement think what you value is trivial.
I remember during the struggle for same-sex marriage, well-meaning straights who said the fight was meaningless. Many straight people don't get married, and their lives are fine. There are legal contracts a gay couple can create, like a business contract, if financial protection is needed. So why fight about it at all? It is trivial!
They did not realize the fight was not about marriage itself.
The fight was about what marriage REPRESENTS.
It represents legal equality, and cultural recognition of our relationships as legitimate.
As a gay person, you should realize that- but straight people did not, because they lack our perspective.
It is the same with you and the "SJWs" you look at with scorn.
You lack their perspective, and obviously make no attempt to learn it.

Good old Madonna has weighed in, referencing her pulled Pepsi ad in 89' after the Like A Prayer controversies.
She posted a pic of her holding a coke.
Coke then responded to her with a pic of Coke bottles dressed in Madonna costumes.

What are you, ten years old? Wow, how terrible, a stupid ad got pulled because it implied Pepsi could fix the long-standing racial disparities that remain in America. A gay man babbling about SJWs is just the saddest thing I've ever seen – many of us are only alive today because WE ARE SOCIAL JUSTICE WARRIORS, and when discrimination and the AIDS epidemic hit back, we didn't sit around pissing our pants and whining about 'cucks', we fought back.
You proved me right, most gays demand a hive mind.
Modern SJWs are fighting for bullshit, not justified causes. Â It's like the recent discussion I had here with another user about feminism. Â He had no idea about anything, just the misinformation he was told by feminists. Â He clearly never looked up anything for himself, because anything I brought up he could only respond with "I haven't hear about that" or similar. Â Everything was justified by screaming "the patriarchy".
BLM doesn't care about innocent black lives, they only care about thugs. Â They too refuse to admit that blacks play an integral part in the issue they are complaining about. Â When you compare crime stats against police shootings, blacks are actually shot far less than you would expect. Â BLM screams that official stats are racist.
Nobody seriously thought/thinks that Pepsi can solve the world's ills. Â BLM just needed another thing to whine about.

I have to address something you bring up a lot… This gay hive mind thing you made up - it is not some great drama, it is simply that a lot of gay men share certain values/morals/beliefs/opinions - most gay men share the opinion that murder is wrong - is that a conspiracy against murderers? No it is simply our values/morals/beliefs/opinions that happen to coincide re : murder. Most gay men share certain experiences, no matter our lives that coincide with shaping beliefs etc
Just because, as an example, a lot of posters believe a certain thing doesn't mean we are all brainwashed by a hive mind it simply means we are the majority in certain beliefs.
-
If we aren't all part of the gay borg collective, then we deemed evil by our fellow fags.
I don't cuck to BLM, so I'm a racist.
I don't cuck to feminism, so I hate women.
I pointed out 2 proven lies by a Congressman, so I'm a racist.
It's always the same shit with SJWs.
If you disagree with setting a building on fire with people in it to prevent "wrong think", then you are a hate monger.
If you disagree with beating the shit out of people who you "think" might disagree with the fag collective, then you are evil.
If you claim that wearing boys' underwear doesn't make you trans, then you are evil.
If you don't believe a woman is gender fluid because she occasionally wears jeans, then you are evil.
If you say that being a cross dresser does not make you transsexual, you are a transphobe.
Saying that Elliot Cope isn't trans because she is not, makes you a transphobe.
Modern SJWs don't fight for anything real, they just want something to whine about to make them feel special.
Let's not for get how SJWs, especially black SJWs, treat blacks who disagree with their bullshit. Â Non-SJW blacks are called white washed, coons, house niggers, chimps, and many other things.
-
I pay them no mind.. in anything in life there are extremists.. the right side of politics has it too.. as i've said b4 - these bullshit extreme sides are loud but definitely a minority
but to clarify.. im not am extreme SJW (the kind you describe) and that Pepsi ad reaction, i believe, was justified
My issue with a lot of people that express themselves, the way you are, (not pointing at you directly btw) is that I fee'l like if i even slightly agree with BLM or whatever group we are discussing I am auto labelled an SJW and suddenly am this extremist, that shits me - just remember the majority is in the centre or worse - they don't care at all
