Within a couple months of being 57–I’m about 6’-1” tall, and my weight fluctuates throughout the course of a day, almost always staying somewhere between 160-165 pounds, regardless. A little over 180 is the heaviest I’ve ever been.

Fortunately for me, this is in spite of my eating habits in terms of quantity or quality. I love and eat all the “no-no’s”–junk food, fast food, candy, chips, sodas, the bad cholesterol and fats, hydrogenated whatevers–the list goes on. If I’m up, I get hungry every couple of hours and tend to eat something!

Although I love fruits and veggies, I don’t eat them regularly, so I take my daily vitamin C and multi adult “gummies” when I remember to.

Checking my weight a couple of days ago, the scale read 169.8, and just a couple of minutes ago, 158.8--both outside the norm, but in keeping with my eating.

Mine is a sedentary lifestyle. I’m a “couch potato” and Tuesday night league bowling is about the extent of my physical activity. Other than walking to the mailbox or laundry room, I walk downstairs to the garage, hop into my baby and drive--even just the couple of blocks to the store--for candy, chips…

Also good (and a mystery to me and others), my annual check-up–knock on wood–shows cholesterol, blood pressure, and health in general, to be “good.”

My “lifestyle” as it’s been over the last several years, has me no longer in sync with the normal 24 hour circadian rhythm--up 2-3 days straight, until I “fall out” for about 10-12 hours.

Aside from factors such as male vs. female, age, and ethnicity, I found that “ideal” proportion of height relative to weight also depends on the chart used. One had me bordering on being underweight, while another showed I was “overweight”--citing my weight should be about 139!

Well I see myself as “skinny.” Bobby and my other SO agree, and I’m pretty sure family and friends see me as being on the “slender” side.

So, how’s the proportion relative to your height and weight?

According to the chart, i'm clearly "over."

        Between ages 20 and 30, i was at 126; 30 to 40, 135; 40 to 50, 145. Then the upper limit went to 220, and i'm only 5'6".

The pronouncement that i have "type 2" diabetes initiated a strict diet. All candy- which represented a serious percentage of my diet- was verboten.  Turns out sugar is everywhere- my liter of Sprite, Orange drink or similar was cut out- even ORANGE JUICE!

Concentrated following of that diet got me from 220 to 190, but i've been there for 4 years, now and i don't believe i'll get lower.

My one ongoing sin- See's sugarless chocolate covered walnuts still prevails. However, if i do more than 3 pieces a day, i get diarrhea, so that's the limit.

Over and I know it.  Would like to lose a couple stone, but not overly concerned about it.  Having a healthy cardiovascular system and the strength and stamina to enjoy some – ahem -- rigorous exercise  :bsex: are my main goals.

              Imperial System?!

              Aaaargh! Ah! Haaaaaaaaalp meeeee!

Um…I'm a little overweight, so I need to workout more.  Sad thing is I was in a gym but left, and I haven't joined a new one.

And man....diet is bonkers, but is like 80% or more of the Diet+Exercise= Health equation...

              send carrot sticks, pronto!

Based on the chart, I just made the ideal weight!

I used to be way under but thanks to the big portion meals here, I gained 22 lbs in the first 8 weeks since I arrived and it hasn't moved much for the last 15 years. Would love to have a few more lbs but it's so difficult to gain weights for me even though I eat pretty much EVERYTHING lol.

180cm for 70kg is nice. 175 for 65 kg is nice. above to me that's fat.(unless it's only muscle like a gym addict ). the rule is 10kg less then your height ( ex 190cm: 80 kg etc..)

Congrats on being "ideal'! (Cast your vote on the poll. You'll be the first "ideal" vote!)

I also see that you and I are similar in that we are able to eat "EVERYTHING" without putting on the weight…cool! 😉

Sorry…not a "snorter" or "crankster"--smoke "bud" but not the "cancer sticks." I've got to say it's a matter of metabolism. 😄

Exactly right, just a very fast melabolism that allows us to eat all the "bad" stuff without getting fat :cheesy2:

It also depends too much on body type, we can't base ourselves only on height x weight.
I, for example, am short but big. My doctor once told me I would only be my ideal weight when dead.
Guess the most important is Fat% (which I know, you can't measure that easy)
