To the uploaders (and downloaders) of any of the following torrent videos:

Without doing a “search” of or opening any files on your computer, and referring to this list of video titles only…
- Do you know either the subject of the particular video, or the name of the torrent the video belongs to?
As for me, having downloaded all of these in the last week or so, I can say “No” to both. Even if I had the torrent names randomly listed opposite this list of titles, I couldn’t tell you what video goes to what torrent
My second question is for the uploaders only, and something I’ve decided I’d ask from now on, whenever I come across a torrent with the same issue; and that is…
- Why didn’t you rename the video from the cryptic title, to something more descriptive–using the title of the torrent, for example, before you created and uploaded your torrent? ???
Anyway, from now on, I’ve decided to ask, “Why?”

Those numbers are not familiar to me
but as for renaming video files…I love those EB videos with massage etc. and there are sometimes a dozen vids of a guy and some uploaders change the original names which makes it very difficult to restore the original order or avoid duplicates.

The videos were in the torrent, so I guess the torrent had a proper name (more or less).

I knew what I was downloading based on the torrent titles and descriptions.
What I said was, with only the list of video titles to work from, I haven't a clue as to what the video's subject is.

"Best Practice" says that the uploader should have renamed the files to something that gives better detail; ie "caleb fucks tony" or whatever.
HOWEVER, it is acceptable for the uploader to leave the official source names as long as he gives a proper description of the torrent.

I get that file names can be uninformative, as long as the torrent description is clear (A series of amateur massages with happy endings filmed at the athletic dept of a university).
My question is this: sometimes the torrent title is really unclear, or difficult to de-code. This seems to be happening a lot in the "Themed Movies" category lately. Here's an example:paldvd9myprivategogoakathegodocprojectdvd

If you really look at it, you can see that the rip is from a PAL DVD, but figuring out the name of the flick is harder. What is shown among the pictures are three different movies (I think): My Private Go, The Go Go Project, and Getting Go.
When you're scrolling the torrents, seeing "paldvd9myprivategogoakathegodocprojectdvd" is less than user-friendly. Can we report the torrent to you guys, and request that the torrent title be changed to something more legible? I know you guys are way busy, so perhaps you could put the torrent on hold, and request the poster to edit the name?
Anyway, just wondering.

As per IMDb link http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2623502, the full title of this film is Getting Go, the Go Doc Project (2013). As for the pics, they are all from this film (including cover and promo shots).

That particular way to title (name) uploads has created already quite some reports, helpdesk requests and forum post(s).
It is hard to read, but not against the rules, because not misleading. Basically only spaces are left out:
pal dvd9 my private go go aka the go doc project dvd
and using capital letters would improve intelligibility:
PAL DVD9 My Private Go Go aka The Go Doc Project DVD
It would really be good if uploading members would follow the Upload Guide:

I think here especially to the collections which are no collection, means missing the "Well defined common theme", or missing the video file list (even not to speak about a human intelligible video list).
Therefore it isn't really time to think about adding Rules.

I get the impression that a lot of the 'odd' titles are a desperate attempt to upload something before the DMCA police arrive and everything gets taken down.
Since we have no way of knowing what is likely to get the chop here, some people have taken to disguising what they are posting. Possibly a self-defeating exercise as a nondescript title, an altered file name and a useless picture won't tempt downloads.
Perhaps we could have a forum thread (perhaps with anonymous messages) where posters could tell everyone they have had a torrent deleted because of a DMCA 'request' - I put that in quotes because I see from TorrentFreak some studios have reported themselves for 'violations', some agents have quoted non-existent URLs.

The agents searching for infringing uploads on GayTorrent.ru are AFAIK mostly real humans and not bots. Perhaps because there are some site crawling protections in place, basically to avoid massive hit and runs.
Anyway, I've said that at many occasions: Trying to obfuscate what is shared is useless. As long as members can identify what it is, agents can, too. It just defeats the search and therefore the user experience.
Members fearing that an upload will be taken down, should not upload it in the first place, rather than trying to 'hide' it.
Anyway, we are going here off topic, because the files in the opening post were not of such nature. They look rather than 'original' file names created by a computer system, not giving much information to humans, aside de definition (240p) and bit rate (400K).
Most likely the uploader got them named like that and if he/she is still seeding on that tracker, renaming will make that very complicated.
IMHO it would be easier to work out in the description, what file is what. -
I understand what you say, Popper. So I guess the best thing to do is nothing. Presumably fewer people will want to download something that they can't read the title of. Sort of "market economics," I suppose!

Regarding some of the replies to my post (noted below), citing issues with the naming and titling of a torrent…
My concern is not with a torrent's name or title, but with the name/title of its video (MP4, FLV, AVI, etc.)--and a question as to why doesn't the uploader of such videos noted (which appear in my download list as an unidentifiable string of numbers and letters attached to an MP4, AVI, or other video file) rename the video a title that's at least somewhat descriptive.
