How are people using Freeleech to fix their Ratio?
-
Sometimes I tried downloading from the Freeleech to fix ratio but for some reason I can't get much upload from it. So What kinda Freeleech torrents should I look for when I'm search for them? Time snatched? Up to date? Number of seeders?
any help would be great :hug2:

If you can catch videos soon after they become Freeleech, this will probably maximise the amount of upload you can get from them. Look for videos with just a few seeders, and/or a high ratio of leechers to seeders. A long time left in Freeleech helps, too. Of course, larger videos are better for getting more traffic.
I don't download new videos that often anymore, so I frequently wait for my bonus points to accumulate from seeding what I have. Then, when I see a video I want, I'll spend my points to make it Freeleech. I get it for free, other people get to benefit from it as well, and if it's popular, I get a lot of upload credit for it. (Not that I need to worry about my ratio at this point.)

I shared on the previous thread (https://forum.gaytorrent.ru/index.php?topic=41432.0) why going for large files is the easiest way to get it going.
After the file has completed downloading, I watch the upload traffic on uTorrent. If there's a steady flow (of around 50 to 100 mbs), you're good to go if you just leave it there.
I forgot to say this in the other thread, but if you right-click the torrent on uTorrent and set the band allocation to high/maximum, it'll speed things up a little bit more.

Thanks for the info here!!

:true: based also on my personal experience with freeleech

It is important that your torrent client is 'connectible', if not, downloading peers will download from other peers who's torrent client is connectible.
-
Sometimes I only download a few files that I really want from a torrent with many other files in it. If it's a typical torrent I can get quite a high share ratio on those few files as quite a number of traffic is diverted my way, and even more so if it's a Freeleech.

Speaking of which… Is there some reason why our system´s connectable status detection seems to be broken? It shows EVERYONE as being connectable, which I know is just NOT the case as there are a lot of users who do not know about port forwarding.

A little clarification on freeleech please: If I come in late and find something I'm curious about on freeleech but only has 5 minutes left; is it still free for me because I've started within the freeleech period? Or will anything that wasn't finished be counted toward my DL.

I read in a forum, that yeah, that will be the case

Keep in mind that Freeleech helps your ratio most when you are one of a small number of seeders for a torrent with a large number of leechers.
There are also other ways to improve your ratio.
-
Upload new material (There is a very generous seed bonus reward program for your very first upload)
-
Seed torrents you already downloaded
-
Add pictures to Torrents with very few (images need to be from that torrent)
-
Add categories on torrents you've dowloaded
-
Search and Report duplicate torrents
-
etc.
If your ratio is hurting, drop me an PM and I'll send you a set of instructions for how to rack up seed bonus fast from reporting duplicate torrents. At 50 seed bonus points per reported dupe (600 points swaps for 10GB of upload credit), you can fix most ratios pretty fast.

And don't forget the Category Votes - it's only 2 points a post but it can add up. I've seen people struggling when they have downloaded dozens, maybe 100s of files and have never voted.

cannonmc is right. Voting categories gets you 2 points each for next to no time and effort.
If you can, it's most helpful to save your seed bonus until it reaches 600 or more. Swapping 600 seed bonus points gives you the best rate of return for upload credit.

Uh, where's that category vote thing?
-
At the top of the search page there is a link "Show torrents not yet voted "
Or go to your main profile and click on 'completed torrents' - those you have voted will show a little pink 'thumbs up'. If it's not there then there are 2 seed points waiting for you for each download

Wow, thanks a lot
