Seeding and leeching Flawed.

Ok so my issue with the site is that the seeding and leeching requirement is fundamentally flawed.
For example say i download a file at 1gb then i get the message seed or get download privileges disabled, problem is, no one is downloading that same file no matter how much i seed it, not to mention even if they do i have to share that seed with say 4 others meaning that i only got to share 250mb of the required quota, while the new downloader again, has to share 1gb of data.
can you see how this doesn't work? now i could of course start downloading shit i don't want just so i can seed it to others, but that wont work either cause see above, so now i have two days to improve my ratio or get kicked i assume, what's the solution here?

Before I got used to the system, I got disabled too but hell if I was going to be out of race that quick so I contacted a mod on chat expressing my situation and that I wanted to seed but couldn't so I got some extra gracetime to up my ratio. Chat is no longer a thing on this site so I'd try pming a mod on the forum somewhere to help you.
The solution and name of the game is freeleech. There's always people downloading freeleech so just check it regularly to see if there's anything you do like and just downloading and seed it. The sooner you seed it, it's not that rare to get 1.0 ratios from freeleech (so basically a torrent's worth of ratio) to climb back into the black. I personally tried downloading torrents i didnt like for ratio but it failed. Gave me meagre return and gave me a bunch of shit I wouldn't watch. So get used to the pace of the site and realise that, yeah it's a slow process but you'll rarely get dead torrents cause everyone has to seed for the sake of ratio besides donating for it. In summary, realistically all the torrents you'll be downloading here are going to be freeleech but the community is active enough that there's fresh pickings every day cause of the next mechanic…
As you seed, you get seedbonus which you can redeem to turn torrents into freeleech. Eventually, you'll get rich enough here to start downloading torrents you want that aren't freeleech, until then, if you like something, wishlist it.
There's another method to getting seedbonus that involves downloading LOTS of torrents but I feel the less people realise how lucrative it is, the less it will be abused... maybe. If anyone knows what I'm talking about, I do feel abusers will be in the minority but I'm too uncertain to make a judgement.

First, let's get one thing straight - you do not get kicked. The system will disable your download rights, temporarily. The staff will advise you on how to restore them.
Second, whatever you have downloaded just keep it seeding if you can. I have had people grab some stuff from me months after I had forgotten about the torrent.
I would never suggest people download anything just to improve their ratio. If you spot a healthy freeleech that you think you will enjoy, then grab it.
There are plenty of ways to add to your seed bonus to swap for upload gigs. Vote on what you have downloaded, upload pictures to posted torrents, join in the forums.
But the best way to improve your ratio is probably to upload your own torrent. It is very easy, especially after the first one. If it is the first one you can claim 600 bonus points. And you will get a credit of at least the size of the file. Just remember to check for duplicates before you post.
I have no idea what Fisto means when he talks about 'LOTS of torrents…' but then I don't know the site very well ...

The system isn't flawed; in fact it is more than fair. Give back at least as much as you take and you will have no problems! It really isn't difficult.

I agree with you, the best way to improve one's ratio is to ul a video. This site is a "give and take" site and their maintaining ratio is very fair and who knows, you might have a video(s) that most of us haven't seen yet

There is also the option of making a donation for a more instant gratification. This however is not mandatory and you can opt in or opt out of this method. Also, you can contribute to the forum, upload new pictures to torrents, vote for categories on torrents that you have downloaded, and even reporting duplicate torrents in order to get a bigger SBP build up. These SBP can be used to get upload credit towards your ratio.

Pick newer torrents that are in demand or has many leechers. If they are older, have many seeders and few leechers you probably will never be able to seed back what you have downloaded.

I could understand your frustration. :-[ This was all confusing to me as well at first, but I found that the simplest way to UP your download privileges – besides donating money (which is too pricey, seriously) or uploading videos yourself -- would be to do the following:
1. Check the [color=#FFFF00]Freeleech section regularly.

2. Check for larger sized videos.
I always look for torrents whose files are in the GB's in total size. The larger the size, the better! Even if there's only a few leechers for the torrent, a 20 GB torrent with 5 leechers would give you more than a 20 MB torrent with 50 leechers, if you get what I'm saying.
And who cares what type of videos you're going to find and download. You're here to fix your ratio – not get forced to watch and jerk off to shit you're totally not into. ;D
3. Check for the time left that the torrent would be still be freeleech.
Just to be safe, don't download huge files that are going to expire before you think you can download the entire thing, or you'll mess up your ratio (like I've done a few times >:() lol.
I've found this to be the fastest way here, and I wish that they specified the Freeleech section in their instructions or email notifications. ::)
You could also upload a huge collection of files later once you have them, if you'd like. Smaller files to share, participating in forums, submitting pics, voting in categories, etc. is way too slow a process for me.
