I don't know about that… I think he used it for premium content on the site. If there was actual cash I don't think it was much.

The cam website that you guys are talking about is probably chaturbate. If you want to do this, by all mean go for it, just don't expect huge profit from it, especially if you don't have lots of time, "talent" and alpha male looks.
I don't get the hype behind this crap. Why people bother paying money (tokens) and hope to get the promised from cam whores in return, when there is already lots of porn of all variety already recorded. You can see pretty much whatever you like and it's freely accessible not only here, but also on websites such as gaymaletube. I have also observed some gay guys on chaturbate and oh god it was pathetic. The most pathetic thing I have ever seen was a guy with a dildo up his ass that supposely vibrated to the sound of the tips. If I ever find myself in that situation I will kill myself.

Unknown69, I guess the whole thrill with cam sites is the fact that it's live, whereas porn is, as you said, recorded. It may make no diference for you - as it doesn't make for me either - but for some people it's really something, they feel like it's more "real", as if cam whores were more real people then porn stars.

Not that I take it as derogatory in any way but there seems to be a distinction being made between cam whores & porn stars when really a whore is a whore is a whore. Also, I consider everyone potentially a whore which boils down to a whore is a whore is a whore.
The best performers are the ones who put on a show without the constant whoring for tokens but then there can be some really annoying audiences. If you're going to do it best to have a thick skin because the ratio of nasty certainly knows no limits online.
I used to do it years ago and got paid per shift as opposed to working on tips which was a lot easier and profitable then I presume cam4 or chaturbate are. I wasn't doing it for the pay cheque though, I found it really hot.
I enjoy checking them out now and again but usually get frustrated when I can't fast forward to the good bits.
