I personally like Star Wars more over Star Trek

Was it Boy George who said "You're as good as you're last record"? Ya, right, neither. I am more upset with the Star Trek mess tho.
-
Star Wars any day…. sorry to Star Trek but I can't be dealing with the whole good movie bad movie rotation they have going on.
-
Star Trek All The Way! Plus Star Trek has a free MMO (Star Trek Online) you can play that's totally awesome and fun!

I have a love-hate relationship with both. Although my view on Star Wars is limited to the movies only. I've seen all of Star Trek (except TAS). Considering the most recent Star Wars movie and how wonderful it was, I am inclined to say it is trumping Star Trek currently. Although it has a lot to compete with as the Star Trek universe and TNG has a much more visited universe.

Star Trek hands down. I love the knowledge that there's a universe that can be somewhat explored in the television series and films. I know Star Wars has the same, but Star Trek to me appears more plausible to me. I love the realism, maybe goals? Who knows. :cheesy2:

Pre-JarJarAbrams Trek. Not even a hint of doubt there.
I used to be a Star Wars fan when I was around 10-12 but then I started watching Voyager (showing my age lol) and I've been engulfed in that universe ever since.
TOS, TNG, VOY, DS9 and hell even ENT. And 10 great movies.
The JarJar movies aren't even Trek, supposedly they are just alternate reality/universe and can safely be regarded as non-canon. That's my take anyhows.
Hyped for the new series though, let's hope they keep it real and ditch JJ's teenage/explosions/sex/goldfish attention span themes. -
I still haven't seen any of them

Do you mean to tell me you have never seen any Star Trek? Ignore everything that has been said and get your self some of the trek. Maybe steer clear of Deep Space 9 but any of the other series are solid although my favourite (and not a universally shared opinion) is Enterprise. It's also a safe bet with just about any of the films (though I don't count the JJ Lensflare films as part of that equation) except for Insurrection. Another not very popularly shared opinion is that the first film Star Trek - The Slow Motion Picture is good. I think it's great and always hope to find an extended director's cut that might be similar to watching glaciers move.

defs SW, its a space opera but in truth I've only seen the recent Trek movies - which aren't that great
-
Totally Star Wars, love the space opera genre! Honestly, they're 2 different balls of wax though.

Exactly...but I'm a Trekkie all the way. Have been since 1986 when the 4th Trek movie came out and turned me Trekkie. Although I was indeed into Star Wars a couple of years before that, but dropped the SW interest once I turned Trekkie.
Keep in mind that Trek set the standard for everything to follow and is 11 years older than the first SW movie in 1977. 13 years actually, if you count the original 1964 pilot.

Then you're denying yourself a lot because...although I thought the "new" Trek movies were terrific (the ones with Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto)...those are a reboot, not the movies with the tv series actors (6 with the original series, and the 4 Next Generation cast).
You need to catch up with the first 10 movies with the tv actors. Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home is the best with the original series group, and Star Trek: First Contact is the best with the Next Generation cast. At least try to catch those two, and with an open mind.

I can't understand much sci-fi for some reason, but Star Wars appears to be the only one I can understand. That said, Star Wars.

Star Wars baby!

Star Wars, by far. On the movie side it kinda sucks lately, but the shows have rekindled my love for the franchise.
