I went to germany last year and it was somehow expensive in certain areas like public transport, but food was cheaper than in mexico, so european guys what do you think of living in europe, yay or nay?

I know quality of life in Germany is better than in mexico so i can justify the prices, so for you what are the main advantages of living in europe than let's say in a 3rd world country like mexico?

The UK is very expensive, on a cost of living basis.    Obviously, some areas are cheaper than others.

Salaries fell in 2007/08 when the global economic crisis happened, but prices and taxes kept going up.

Not only do we pay VAT on the actual cost of an item, we also pay VAT on other taxes and surcharges included in the price.  This changed about 10 years ago.
