Hi, i havent been online for quite a while but i jus went to visit GTN and its not there
anyone knows what has happened to it? -
It's still there, though the IP address has changed a bit.

It's against the rules to post links to other sites, especially competing gay torrent sites in the forums.
However, if you put a . {dot} after "gay" in the old site address it will take you there.
Don't expect much as only a small part of the forums are open, even though it has a sign saying the site is closed.

Yeah, that's a rule I'm not going to follow. Someone spamming another site should be smacked, but polite conversation should not.
I found this and other sites via other sites.
Keep your users by having a great system – not by insulting their intelligence by trying to fool anyone into thinking that there aren't 4-5 other systems out there.

Well, moderate me or ban me if you want. I think I've been a strong contributor, uploaded new stuff, helpful in the forums, kept a high ratio. You'll have to decide if my occasional disregard for this rule (which I haven't violated, yet) outweighs my contributions here.
It's a dumb rule – childish, really. It goes against common sense.

Re-read that message a few cells above (posted by you, a moderator); that's a perfect example that the rule insults the users' intelligence. We can't give the URL but I can speak it in pig-latin to you. I don't have a lot of time or patience (as you can see) for stuff like that.
How about treating others the way that you want to be treated? Lead by example, don't be led by bad examples. Two 'wrongs' do not make a 'right.' You have a pretty cool system here – you're not going to lose users if they discover other websites.
That said, I've seen a few links on GTN pointing here, recently. GTN also pointed me to BeBent, which I hadn't heard of before this week. It could be that they're letting things slide since their own tracker has been down for weeks. But that's what is happening now.
I suggest that you change the rule. And, if you don't, then I suggest that you be understanding that users (like me) are going to occasionally and innocently break that rule because it does go against common sense. Just moderate the message, if you must. The better choice would be to not annoy your users with dumb rules (as long as they're not intentionally advertising).
This is the last I'm going to say about this. I don't want to make a big deal over nothing -- and I feel that I already have.

Ok, so you say that we shouldn't follow bad examples, like when GTN didn't allow links to other trackers, now that they are allowing them because their tracker is down, you say we should follow their lead. There's no pleasing you.
I haven't banned or even warned a member for violating this rule. They get a PM saying that it's not allowed and their post altered to reflect the rules. This type of moderation is reserved for members who honestly "innocently break the rules", not for those that have stated clearly that they refuse to follow the rules.

anyone knows what has happened to it?From what I could gather, they were having server issues and have been trying for a while now to stabilise the servers. I'm not really into servers etc so don't know what that means.
I am just please I found this site, I really like it. Only problem is I think some people have an issue about seeding for more than a day! :-l

unfortunately most people just have a problem seeding, that's not just this site it EVERYWHERE! I have actually found this site to be one of the best for seeding but that's just my opinion…

Sorry.. Have to disagree on just about every thing in this thread..
The "seed bonus" does encourage those who have finished to stay on.. BUT.. they seem to turn down their bandwidth.. If you arrive a bit late & miss the initial seeding then you can see lots of seeders BUT they are not uploading much & you cant request a reseed as there are still seeders..
I am DLing a movie [share rating of 1.74] & am connected to 5 seeders.. Only 1 is ULing at over 0.5kbps
To give a bonus for the TIME they stay seeding once completed doesn't seem to be working very well..GTN doesn't allow their members to post links to here, so why should we allow our members to post links to there?!

I have mentioned this site in 4 posts there [3 saying how good this site is & 1 ranting about how I had been banned because an ex-BF had used my computer to open an account for himself here.. 2 accounts from an IP gets an automatic ban..] & none of those posts have been removed..This IS a good site.. BUT.. there is always room for improvement..

With everything there is always room for improvement but the fact that we are working our butts off for FREE must mean something?
I have been waiting for an answer about something from GTN for about a week now (without any response what so ever), you would never have to wait as long as that here unless its an impossible question to answer, and even then we would do our best and get in contact with you anyway.
Everyone has there own opinions and I do understand that but sometimes I feel that some people will never be happy, even if they are receiving a service like this for FREE…

without the hard work of the unpaid Mods & Admins there would be no torrent sites.. & ..The torrent system is not "FREE" for those of us that rent / buy DVDs to rip or visit PPV sites to rent & then UNDRuM new movies / clips to post on sites like this.. OR..

might tend to make "temporary refugees from GTN" less likely to stay & contribute "here"..
A missed opportunity to gain a few good initial seeders & donors??To give a bonus for the TIME they stay seeding once completed doesn't seem to be working very well..
To explain my comment further I would like to point out that I have been getting bonus points for "seeding" a clip that I have completed.. There are 23 seeders & 1leecher.. I have 40kbps allocated & available to UL but can't connect with the lone leecher.. If I allocated my full UL bandwidth to get a new DL or to post a new movie here or at another site my bonus would still increase for as long as I remained a "non-ULing seeder"

There are lots of users on this site that don't uploaded torrents themselves or donate but still don't 'just grab as much as they can until their ratios get them suspended', an example of this would be pdu4. Not only does pdu4 make a great contribution to the site regarding seeding, His is also one of the people that moderate the site for free…
