            Kinsey research in the 50's concluded that 1 in ten are gay (Exclusively gay that is) but modern research says around 2 percent of the population are gay! My belief is that when you consider bi and guys who experiment etc the stats would be up to 50 percent. And i should know I did a fairly long stint in prison!

                  @costing:

                  10% is quite low…

                  Actually, as someone mentioned above, the present-day estimates are around 2% are gay.  This would be my the Kinsey Rating a 6, completely homosexual – or to be more exact within the United States:

                  "Based on the 2013 NHIS data [collected in 2013 from 34,557 adults aged 18 and over], 96.6% of adults identified as straight, 1.6% identified as gay or lesbian, and 0.7% identified as bisexual. The remaining 1.1% of adults identified as “something else” [0.2%,] stated “I don’t know the answer” [0.4%] or refused to provide an answer [0.6%]."

                  There is, however, something that isn't often mentioned with bisexuals and that is which way they "lean".  Most seem to have a preference of men or women.

                  This is important depending what type of relationship you do want with a bisexual.  Those bis who lean toward woman can enjoy physical sex with a man, but as far as intimate emotional relationships (love), those are solely with women.  The reverse is true with bis who lean toward men, with them being able to enjoy physical sex with both men and women, but there intimate emotional relationships are with men.

                  There to seem to be some bis who are right down the middle and can form both physical and intimate personal relationships with men and women, but they seem really rare.

                  I've read a lot about this (I read a lot about everything for many decades) and am constantly asking people questions about themselves to learn more.

                  Of course, this IS in the United States.  It might be the same or more or less in other parts of the world, but if you accept the idea that being gay is likely or mostly genetic, it is likely the percentages would be very similar elsewhere on our planet.

                  It sure does make it difficult to find a date way, way too often.    :cry2:

                    I've heard everything from 1 in 3 men being gay, to 10% of the male population. Thing is there's also bisexuals, trans, the plethora of made of Tumblr sexualities, and opportunists who will bang whatever is available who mess with the facts and figures. Sexuality in general has grayed out a lot and it seems like there's more guys willing to hook up with a guy if they're feminine enough or willing to do things that women wouldn't door whatever kink or preference appeals to them. If we're looking at men willing to have sex with other men, I'd say the number is fairly high, but if you're looking for a legit gay guy to be with in a ltr, you're pretty much screwed there statistically.

                          again #everyonelies … There is no way gays are only 2% of the population... unless you are only talking about open male homossexuality... that would mean that at least other 2-3% of males lied and that 5-6% are lesbians... that would make sense... but by google search alone the ips and search history would paint a completely other picture.

                            I think that more men are open to having male sex. Does that make them gay?

                            I live in South America now and I have noticed over the last 15 years that guys are more open ,albeit on the DL, to having gay sex but still have the girlfriend or wife.
                            Also I have noticed that the younger generation doesn't put labels on everything, 'it is what it is' kind of attitude.

                              I'd say more bisexual than anything. 30% who are truly gay seems quite a bit high…

                                If this had been true, then my chances of having sex with some guy would have increased by 50% but alas the country where I live you'd hardly find these 30%.

                                  I couldn't say if that percentage is correct or not.  What I do believe is that there are more same sex encounters between men, by a large amount, than what people believe women have.

                                  Most all of my encounters have been with self described "straight" men.  The number with a description of "Gay" have been very few.  I just counted and it's only 3.

                                  Honestly, I don't care how they describe themselves as long as their sane.

                                    Me too… I heard 10% of the population is truly gay, while a greater amount can be "gay at times", "curious" or simply lay somewhere in between

                                      You would think that with the rising numbers of gay men there would be more solidarity amongst us?  😕

                                        @Illabey:

                                        i heard that 3 in every 10 males are gay … and its rising in numbers. is the world turning gay?

                                        I'd say 10 in every 10 males is 30% gay.  Everyone has curiosities.  It's scientifically proven that men get aroused not so much by gender but by touch/affection regardless of gender (sexual preference is a whole other thing).  Young boys no longer experience stigmas or prejudices related to being gay like 20 years ago, so they're freer to do whatever.  And in society's effort to unnaturally level the battle of the sexes, Western news media constantly elevates the female gender while diminishing males.  Children's programming is all about girl power.  Young boys don't have the same swag or overt heterosexuality they did 20 years ago.  In human nature, controlling women do not compel hardons.  And hardons make the world spin.
