Syrian Crisis

Hey guy
I am Syrian and I live in Syria. My location on this site is in Britain because some sites have issues with Syria.
However, what prospects do you guys have about what is happening in Syria? I am sure many of you have not even heard of Syria before, which is sad.
What happened here is that people started to go on protests for freedom. The Assad's regime faced them with fire. Many were killed. The martyrs' families then protested for their losses, their killed ones. The regime was more brutal and killed even more. Things escalated rapidly, and protests went larger and moved to other cities of the country.
The protests stayed peaceful for over 8 months and the whole world did absolutely nothing, but watching Assad killing "his own people".
People of Syria found themselves lonely facing the brutal machinery of killing. They started to get armed though they had never carried guns. They called themselves "The Free Syrian Army" in a reference to the "regime army" which fight for Assad's power.
That was what the regime wanted, to claim they were fighting armed gangs first, then terrorists, for the safety of the state! They have been bombing with all arm weapons every single village that rebels are located in. In spite of those civilian areas are crowded with innocent people. Most of the bombing victims are civilians.
You would ask why would rebels go into civilian areas. The answer is because this regime has its security service department everywhere, so the rebels have to free and conquer its forces everywhere.
When the revolution took longer, the regime, with their allies, could do what it takes to get the world support to crackdown the revolt. They "hired" a group of AL Qaeda called "The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" and they use them as if they were part of the opposition fighting groups, but secretly they work for the regime. The game has been obvious for those who follow carefully. The west and big countries supported and liked this scenario! Thus massacres in Syria continues. It took long to explain this, but I really hope you guys tell me what you think. I am really honest and I am living the misery.
I also hope you can do something that your governments take seriously and act.Thank you.

I think the rebels for "freedom" destroyed the country. Syria will never be the same again…. and you do realize that other coutries are supporting these rebels for their own benefit. It is sad that you really think that the rebels are fighting for freedom. it is too late now. what has been broken cant be fixed.

Yeah, you're right, dahabreh. Only white people from Western Europe and North America should be allowed to revolt. We can't have people in the Middle East trying to overthrow governments that launch nerve gas against civilians. /sarcasm

I don't agree with you that the rebels "hired" an army of Al Queda. I think they rather saw an opportunity - the instability in Syria - and are taking advantage of it. What started as a real drive for change internally in Syria as sadly now been co-opted into an Islamist revolution against the "secular" Assad. The FSA might have originally thought the more people fighting against Assad the better, I think they've now been swallowed up into an Islamist movement.
Basically I agree with you it's a sad story, but it's hardly a new one. I think the world has grown tired of Arabs slaughtering each other, which seems to be a regular occurrence. For that reason and others, no one will get involved, and will instead let the country totally fall apart. One could argue it already has. For other countries in the area, like Israel, Saudi Arabia, etc - it's better these people waste their ammo on each other than on them. So there will always be pressure to "butt out."
War has always, always taken its toll on civilians and this will be no different. If it were me, I'd be doing whatever I could to GTFO.

I agree with jayschmi1. Radicals took advantage of the situation. I dislike Assad for his ruthlessness but he is turning out to be the lessor of two evils simply because he is more secular.
There are people within the rebels fighting against radical usurpers but I am not sure how successful they will be.When the dust settles the Syrian people will turn their hate and violence onto the gay community. So I don't see how it can be better if the rebels win, even if they overcome the radicals. If they bring sharia suffering the lives of gays will be worse. If Assad wins he will most likely also use gays as scape goat.
From my perspective considering how cruel and wicked Muslim heterosexual men are to gays. I am not sorry if they die, Rebel, Assad or civilian. All of them want me as a gay man to die and suffer greatly before I do. So let them kill each other, they enjoy inflicting this hatred and suffering on gays so let them reap what they so like to sow.
There is nothing to be proud of in Syria. If I were you I would leave and never look back, their hatred has consumed them leave before it consumes you. You think of them as your brothers but if they know you are gay, they will come for you.
