Laser hair removal
-
So I'm 19, and recently came out of the closet. I'm a pretty hairy guy. I don't have an insane amount of hair, but I'm hairier than any of my friends or anyone I've hooked up with. Guys usually say they don't mind, but I feel like all my hair isn't really attractive. I want to keep my chest hair in case it comes back in style (plus it makes me feel manly), but I have a fair amount of hair on my lower back. I've been considering getting it lasered off, since I don't want to have to continually wax it. I would shave it, but it's really hard to reach and it gets itchy when I do. Has anyone here had laser hair removal before? How painful is it really? Was it worth it?

Don't. I didn't do it myself (despite being probably hairier than you: you know, the kid in the class who started shaving daily at 14? That was me. Hell, I even have hairs on my fucking shoulders.
Anyway, I also thought about permanent hair removal, and just the prices made me choke. Just checked the prices at a local clinic, and… Just the lower back is 100$ for ONE session. It'll probably take around five sessions. Even heard some extreme cases of a dozen. And once you started, you probably won't want to stop since it, like, become permanent in patches. So between sessions, you'll have patches of hairs sitting there and being even uglier. I'd prefer spending 500$ to get a PS4 tbh (I'm 19 too, dunno about your budget, but I can't really afford spending that much money for such a little change.)
So my advice is to wait. I recently started going out with a guy who absoluterly loves my hairs - all of them. Didn't think it was possible. It made me realize that when it comes to hairs, we're probably more self-conscious than our partners...
I hope I was clear, since English is not my first language, but I really related to your story, eheh! Please don't go all grammar-nazi on me.

You're better at English than a lot of native speakers.

I find lighter hair sexy whereas darker hair gross. I grow dark hair and I have been thinking of taking laser hair removal quite a long time. However, the price is quite a concern since I have to take quite a few sessions. I think the price will become more affordable as the technology advances so I decide to wait.

I personally find that a man with body hair is sexy. They are also able to pull off having some weight on them better than skinny dudes.
If it bothers you, then take it off. If you think it bothers other people or you are doing it because it is "in style", then you will probably regret your decision later.

That was suppose to be smooth dudes, not skinny dudes.

I agree with shdwrulr; at 19, getting laser hair removal surgery is probably not a good idea, especially if you are only "kinda hairy" as it seems you are trying to say.
I'm only 25, and my perception of my body hair is already much different than it was when I was 19, and I'm glad I didn't remove it permanently, and by the sounds of it, I probably have a lot more than you. Then, I did as you do, waxing it off or removing it with chemical depilatories, thinking other guys would dislike my hairiness, but after deciding it was too much work to keep removing, I quickly found that no fewer guys were talking to me on dating and hookup sites then when I was perfectly smooth. If anything, more guys were into me, with the sole exception of much older guys that had fantasies about completely smooth teen twinks, who were obviously less interested.
Even if you're into those kinds of guys, know that being very young is part of that; once you're in your mid twenties, they're going to stop being interested.
If you still feel the same way when you're 30, or 25 at the least, I say go for it, but at 19 it's just not a good decision to make such a permanent change to your body. In addition to most guys not really caring about it, it's expensive, painful afterwards and can leave scars if it doesn't heal well.

I was thinking about laser hair removal on balls/pubic hair, but was too worried about permanent effects/scarring. Waxing/shaving all the way!
-
Dont do it. There are a world of men who like hairy… it is part of what makes you a man and not a boy.
-
Love hair, hair is extremely sexy, (I'm 18) I'm Italian so I'm pretty hairy too.
-
Back hair isn't sexy.
No one should wear a fur coat.
-
Don´t remove your body hair, its a huge expense and eventually hair will grow back again (even with laser removal).
-
Permanent laser removal will take about 20 sessions over two years, men need way more than women.
-
On a scale of one to 10 how much does it bother you? If it is a low number then saving the money would be my advice. If like me it causes you to constantly worry about how you look, then maybe it is right for you. I had been bothered by it for years, between it and being overweight I avoided any situation where I would need to be without a shirt, this included swimming and going to a gym.
Just remember that it can be painful, I have only had my 1st session so far and it hurt a lot more than when I had the same areas waxed. It can be slow, I am currently looking at 8 sessions spaced 6 weeks apart so it is going to take about 1 year to finish.

Back hair are disgusting, i just had my first laser session yday, back/shoulders/sides/upper hands, it's not that painful but i went to the best laser clinic that we have over here so it's understandable, go for it imo.

Wait until you're more established financially and have money to blow. (Paid off all school loans, paid off your car, house, etc) Doing it now, would just be spending money for other guys. Spend it on yourself and if it still bothers you and wouldn't take a chunk out of your bank account in the future, then go for it.
I imagine you'd want a guy who loved all of you, anyway, so…don't be in a rush to change to what you think guys would like. You can't even see your back, so don't worry about it so much, in my opinion.

Are you crazy???
I am very hairy as you can tell from my photo, and I love it, not because I like my body hair, but because guys from all over the globe admire it and travel to me for it
I love hairy guys as well. If gay guys prefer smooth guys, why don't they just date women and be "straight"?! -
Maybe you should discuss first.

How long does the laser last? I'd pay $500 to never have to deal with shaving again. Can you laser everywhere or just places like your back? I'd love to have my ass and taint done if it doesn't hurt.
-
Laser don't exactly remove hair, it's like rewind the clock of your hair to a pre-puberty state, only that if you are a grown up man the development of your body is now complete and so the hair will not regrow as before (but will slighty). You will continue to grow hair with the time (during the treatment the bulb will be too stressed so you will not notice it) but they will be the same of the kids, very weak and almost invisible.
I'm doing it on front and back because they really have an awful shape (unlike many I saw) and I have often itching.
I have to do at least 18 seance, 1 per month, then afterwards there is 1 annual seance to keep killing the few bulb that continue to resist. For both I payed about 1500 €, but I did it because I work and I can efford it. I never tought about doing it before having an income.
Sorry for my english, I'm Italian too…
