You are referring to the plea bargain made with George Papadopoulos. Doesn't seem to be a big deal.. but anyway.. you are correct that people often LIE when making plea bargains. A great example of that is in rape cases where there are massive penalties for the accused if convicted.. so many of them plead guilty in a plea bargain. One problem with that is that over 10% of those confessions later turned out to be false confessions! Consider this scenario. You are accused of rape, during interrogation, the cop tells you that they have your DNA that proves you committed the rape (cops are allowed to lie in interrogations). So, what do you do? Try and fight the charges and risk spending the rest of your life in prison? Or take a plea deal? Most people would take the plea deal.

Correct, not a big deal in and of itself. But it sets in motion the unraveling of many untruths to come.

Yes, there are surely rape cases where defendants turn to the plea bargain. But almost every type of serious criminal investigation/trial is sometimes open to plea deals, so this analogy is a VERY lenghty distraction. Let's stick to the political matter at hand.
Perhaps we should consider – just, for a moment, allow yourself to consider -- the notion that Pappy is negotiating the plea deal because, well, he's guilty.
It's interesting that in today's related news, Trump downplayed Pappy's role – much like he did with Manafort:
That "distancing" strategy will evaporate when the names in play expand, for example, to "Jared." Since you enjoy predictions, I'll wager that the young, politically inexperienced Kushner has left enough of a phone and message trail that he's now near the front of the line to be charged by Mueller.
