First Off, a Disclaimer… I am not an expert at anything, these are just my experiences. I am sharing them here in hopes that they will help someone else. I have looked very carefully (forum search) for topics that are similar, and because I did not find one of this nature, I am creating it here. Hopefully I have done so in the right place, if not hopefully the moderators will fix any error I have made.

OK! So, with that out of the way, let me slightly explain the title and further what I am talking about.

If you've been on GT for any length of time, you'll have learned about your ratio, and the Rationator (3.0 as of this writing)... It's a really good system and I really appreciate it for keeping users honest. Even if it blocks my download rights!  :cry2:

I don't have any cash right now, but I do have bandwidth… which is something else that this tracker honers in a few ways.

      1. Seeding even 1 torrent you'll rack up 0.5 points every hour.
Currently 100 pts can be exchanged for several gigs of data with regards to your ratio. I have yet to make this work for me this time, but there have been a few times that it's really helped my ratio come back into the safe zone.

I'm not sure if you're aware but for every topic you make in the forums that gets a reply, you earn five bonus points. You also get one bonus point for each reply to an existing forum post (which may or may not exclude spam posts).

Being active in the forums can quickly add up.  ;D

I don't think you get points when someone else replies, unless they've changed things recently…

As for the spam posts, the points are awarded right away, however if our forum admin deems that the post was a spam post or was solely for the purpose of acquiring SBP, they can deduct the SBP for the post.

I was told recently that if you post in the forums and no one replies to that post, you don't get the five points. I was then told you only get those five points when someone replies (so I've been replying to a lot of unanswered posts recently – bros helping bros 'n stuff).  :police:

Once you've posted a new topic, like Mod MrMazda said, you'll automatically get 5 SBP and those who replied will get 1 SBP for every reply they make (not to the author of the topic posted unless he also reply, then the author also get 1SBP for each reply he posted)

I asked a mod about this and this is what he PMed me,

"You get 5 points for a forum "topic" aka thread, but only if someone responds.

You get 1 point for each forum post, automatically.

Of course, you lose these points if they are removed."

This is good to know… Now I'm starting to understand where the confusion on a few other similar questions came in. I did not know of this change.
