How do you get your news? A potentially useful resource

There's no such thing as a perfect news source, nor a perfect news ecosystem, "the algorithm" isolates us from events and opinions that challenge our beliefs. It's also debatable how important it is to be "in the know" about everything in the world.
That said, it is important, in democratic society, to participate in an informed and reasonable manner. Thomas Jefferson wrote in 1816, "If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be."
In that vein, I'm curious how folks get their news and information about what's happening in the world of politics (and art, science, and other fields - which is all part of politics)?
I've personally relied on https://www.allsides.com/unbiased-balanced-news for a long time to both alert me to news I might not have otherwise noticed, but also to stop me from getting trapped in my own filter bubble. I'll often check 'rage bait' stores there and it regularly brings me back to sanity with more details that one side or the other might gloss.

Sadly, in the ever increasing communist state of Canada, I have to get much of my actual news information from sources outside the MSM. While social media platforms are a great way of showing a lot of the stuff that the MSM is either trying to put a spin on, or otherwise won't cover, at the same time, one must also be careful with this type of thing, as I've found there's a lot of government shills that post flat out false information or otherwise try to glorify the current government.
See, a big part of the problem is that the government here either flat out lies, or tries to spin things to make themselves look good, while simultaneously ignoring or otherwise omitting any other pertinent information that does not align with their agenda and narrative. It's becoming increasingly difficult to get actual truthful information that does not lean to one side or the other, and/or that does not try to spin things to push a narrative. Our MSM here in Canada is notorious for trying to put a spin on things to push the government agenda.

@justatest90-0 But does it avoid White-owned brands? Michelle Obama says to.

(I could let justatest call that
"deflection"... but it's a deep meta reflection on how libs set up these dumb games, "I'm really moderate & ur not") -
Since I refuse to pay the TV tax to support BBC, I only watch YouTube to get my video news.
You get a wide variety of news from YouTube. Forbes Breaking News airs Congressional hearings, for example. You can watch local news about various topics. Apparently, even the BBC is coming to YouTube.

And the name-calling starts

Also, once again, a reading comprehension issue. Show me once where I claim to be a moderate? I don't. I (tangentially) claim to want to be informed and reasonable. If you have sources that help with that, share them. If you don't, find another thread.

@raphjd also, Humanity needs to overcome myth of "News organizations".
They're blogs for elites, meant to hook u as they hide truth. Which is why they lie so much.
I only quote them as ice breakers, topic starters.
If ur determined to play game of "Look at me, I read it all, no blind spots here" - ground.news is good.
But messy hand to hand combat of X, "Have a live video - no asshole THIS is a live video" - is better yet.
