      Re: Flavaworks still trying to extort money from people

      I had a letter sent to me in the UK last week to my work address!! Spoke to a lawyer who told me to ignore it, not respond and definitely pay nothing.

        "Flava Works, an adult video company that specializes in black gay male sex scenes"

        what a relief, looks like i'm not getting sued any time soon

          @ianfontinell-0 😉

          The letter didn't provide me with details of what they alleged I had downloaded and shared from this torrent site in particular, but it bothered me they had somehow found my work address in the UK when I don't have that information anywhere online.

                I do wonder how they allegedly manage to identify GT users, my best guess so far is that they are targetting people who gave thanks? 😂

                When you join the swarm you only have access to IP addresses, you cannot possibly see any peer's passkey which is the only way to identify a member. And can we bring in CG-NAT to the table? Most home users are behind a NAT, they share their IP with multiple other clients from the same ISP.

                When all you have is an IP, even if it's a unique IP attributed to a single home, that's still not enough to pursue a copyright claim unless you have means to prove exactly which resident commited the crime, you cannot assume it was one or other person.

                It's strange that no one is willing to take them to court for this predatory behavior since it is extremely harmful for the defendants and to the judicial system.

                  @ianfontinell-0 They get the IP's and subpoena the information and target only the ones they can get with certainty

                    @cp2000 honestly this soundds more like just intimidation tactic almost to make people afraid todo it.... i didnt know companies still did this. Except that Male Physical 2.0 creep assfag would probably do it.
