"Signal app" controversy - what to know
-
- Nothingburger.
No USA military op was compromised, no classified info was compromised, Houthi pirate-terrorists died on schedule, while no USA person died.
Contrast to numerous Obama-Biden-Kamabla leaks & failures, that killed dozens of USA servicemembers.
- BIDEN-Kamabla, instituted & used Signal heavily, made it normal.
Dems on Senate Intel committee, use Signal.
- Lib rag, The Atlantic , lies repeatedly about what they got from Signal leak.
just 1 example - Jeffrey Goldberg claimed he got "precise" terrorist targeting info
In reality, what Goldberg got, was an official who said "[unspecified] Target Terrorist is at his Known [to us, but unspecified] Location."
- Dems, as usual, do TV histrionics to paint FALSE picture.
just 1 example: CIA Director Ratcliffe testifies to Senate Intel Committee that he used Signal correctly & same as them.....Dem Senator then screams at Ratcliffe, on camera, as if Ratcliffe didn't just testify to that.
- Contoversy is surrounded by Dem "Usual Suspects" for fake scandals.
just 1 example: Norm Eisen, David Brock at "American Oversight" filed lawsuit.
Oh look - lawsuit picked up by "judge" Boasberg! You can't make this shit up.
Same activist-Dem Boasberg, discussed here :
Suit claims that use of Signal violates USA "Federal Records Act" - but remember, Biden-Kamabla used Signal heavily, made Signal normal.
So, did Biden-Kamabla violate Federal Records?
Conclusion - what is this manufactured controversy about, really?
It appears that
-
Dems & CIA liked Signal when they had presidency...... do stuff, without its comms being monitored.
-
Dems & CIA hate Signal now that they lack presidency.....don't let Trump do stuff, without its comms being monitored.
Circumstances changed & they want to knock out Signal.
Info ops can have more than 1 purpose - Dems badly, also, want to distract from Trump progress & good headlines on countless fronts.
Knock out some Trump appointments or scalp a Cabinet member, if they can.
But Trump & Co could have leaned into this fake-controversy, glad to let it happen.
Because, its net effects are that people hear about Signal & how Biden used it...... people learn more of how Dems create fake scandals..... future security of Trump ops is tighter..... & people see that Trump does fight Houthi pirates, yet, it benefits Europe & Europe ought to pay. All good.
I don't see how anyone remembers this whole thing in a week - except maybe as another Trump win
-

All true no doubt, but you would come across as less of a biased partisan apologist if you could also admit that it was a major fuck-up, in addition to all the other valid things you're pointing out. That's the kind of thing that made people lose respect for the dems: their inability to admit even the most basic and obvious truths in their defense of the party line.
-
Now that is name-calling.
No worries. All in fun. Key part of your answer is:
All true
Thank you.
As to this:
it was a major fuck-up
No.
What bad thing happened? Nothing!
No one died (who didn't have it coming).
Even you, conceded that. (I said it, and you included it implicitly in "All true")
On present info, mission was fine. No one escaped death (who had it coming).
Nothing & no one was exposed (who shouldn't have it coming). No sources, no methods, no agent or field names, no routes. No classified documents.
I call it, -too- clean. -Maybe- a purposeful setup?
-IF- it is truly unplanned / accidental: It entertains
- & we got transparency about anti-terrorist ops.
Problem is when things involve, you know, actual failures - actual deaths - actual classified docs - actual crimes of bribery or extortion - etc. None here.
JD Vance smells like a rose. He is truly "America First". We can see he doesn't fake it.
I wonder if that
was key point? JD Vance is President Trump's life insurance. If you are CIA, lib or whatever: There is no more point in assassinating Trump, unless you can also kill Vance.
Long story short: Chillax.
I remember when you @Rapsey-0 told me:
...thank you for your political posts. Not only are you doing the world a favor by shining a light on these cockroaches, you're also helping the rest of us not to lose hope, by showing that sane people still exist (even in gay circles). It is greatly appreciated. Please keep doing what you do.
You got it right, back then.
Here, not so much.

Scott Adams comment.
If [Def Sec] Hegseth has the power to declassify content, putting that content on Signal is a defacto declassification. Worst case, he should have done some paperwork first...
Democrats are conflating what COULD have happened (imaginary) with what did happen (nothing). We see that pattern a lot.....
back to me: By now Dems must be so used to getting USA military killed through their incompetence, they see it........ ........even when it's not there.
-
Key cyber agency - Dec 2024, still Biden-ish - told everyone, TALK ON FUCKING SIGNAL.
...CISA urged senior government and political officials to switch to end-to-end encrypted messaging apps like Signal following a wave of telecom breaches across dozens of countries, including eight carriers in the United States.
choreography.....

@blablarg18 said in "Signal app" controversy - what to know:

No.

No one died (who didn't have it coming).

Regrettably you are just further illustrating my point.
"It was a major fuck-up, but fortunately nothing bad happened" is not the same as "it wasn't a fuck-up at all". If I as a sysadmin accidentally expose an internet-connected database server without any password protection then that's a major fuck-up on my part, even if no bad actors got their hands on the data.
As for the "all true", you conveniently left out the second bit: "no doubt". Meaning: I don't know if it's true but I have no reason to doubt it so I believe you at your word.
Really disappointing to see you descend to these bad-faith arguments. I know you're intelligent enough to do better.
-
@Rapsey-0 Regrettably you are just further illustrating my point.
"It was a major fuckup, although admittedly nothing happened"..... is pathetic. Self-contradiction.
Even with premise that it was unplanned (again I do not agree as yet)......still........ NOTHING. HAPPENED. One calls it "minor incident" or "trivial episode needing policy clarification".
As for the "all true", you conveniently left out the second bit: "no doubt". Meaning: I don't know if it's true but I have no reason to doubt it so I believe you at your word.
omg what twisty bullshit that ends up as
for anonymous chat, ONLY 2 alternatives....................
either
- you do agree / concede my premise in this discussion right now, or
- you don't, because you have other information to contribute right now
...and here it's # 1 clearly..... and you admit it, great, thank you, EXCEPT, you still want to tack extra words onto your admission as if somehow I had been dodgy to grasp that it is # 1.
Really disappointing to see you descend to such garbage attempts to save face. I hope you're intelligent enough to do better.

Another day, another Jeffrey Goldberg lie. 2 really.
CIA DIRECTOR RATCLIFFE: "Yesterday I spent 4 hours answering questions from senators [ed: wtf? on this nothingness?] - as a result of that article intimating that I transmitted classified information. Those messages were revealed today - I did not transmit classified information."
"The reporter, who I don't know, intentionally intended it to indicate that [ed: lie 1]. That reporter also [ed: lie 2] indicated I released the name of an undercover CIA operative. In fact, I released the name of my chief of staff, who is not operating undercover. That was deliberately false and misleading."

prediction on track:
I don't see how anyone remembers this whole thing in a week
@Rapsey-0 when you see The Atlantic or Jeffrey Goldberg, always think "Oh dear, not them."
Goldberg invented "suckers & losers" hoax. Big Russia hoaxer. He lies often - mixed with just enough truth to pass Editor & Legal offices.
-
Politico lies next:
IN FACT, there was an administration whose blunders were infinitely more - and nobody resigned or got fired.
They were called, Biden.
In Afghanistan withdrawal they killed 13 of USA military without need.
Maths teachers say, 13 ratioed to 0 (here) is infinity more.
But nobody resigned or got fired, makes Politico wrong on facts.

back to topic - "Department of Imaginary Concerns to handle Fake Democrat Panics" ??

Another day of, Trump haters show magic amnesia.
Now it's on Right. NRO:
Pete Hegseth Should Be Fired...It is inconceivable to me that -any other defense secretary- would survive such an incredible lack of judgment.
First: Signal "mistake" - if indeed it was a mistake & not purposeful - was from staffer of Mike Waltz. Hegseth fine.
Second: mistake without consequences. Nothing happened. Almost too clean.
Third: NOTHING. HAPPENED.
Fourth: Hegseth is BIG improvement over Lloyd Austin who
-
wrecked USA military, with Woke & DEI. (Hegseth fixes it & that is what matters)
-
that time Austin vanished for days, mysteriously. Which NR covered & ought to recall. (https://www.nationalreview.com/2024/01/lloyd-austin-going-awol-was-not-normal/ )
NR tries to re-litigate Hegseth confirmation. Pathetic. (for that confirmation tho, see https://community.gaytorrent.ru/topic/66768/pete-hegseth-circus )
NR are longtime NeverTrumper, "Lincoln Project" & K-street lobbyist....it takes little, to scratch their mask.

Not to be overlooked: Sean Davis, Mar 26.
Lost in the stupid Signal chatter is...we got to see dead-end neocon war pimp Jeffrey Goldberg pretend to be upset about...Middle East getting bombed.
But truthfully - to extend that point - reports have said, 50 civilians got killed in the attack. That, I do not like.
Oh, it's typical when you bomb enemies. "Par for the course". But still bad. Me no like.
-
Narrator: But the "undercover agent" was only a known top official, and the "war plans" were vague, really nothing.
