            @Kekkaishi The name "Dick" is a nickname of the given name "Richard," which had a peak of popularity (in the US) in the middle of the 1900's; see https://www.wolframalpha.com/input?i=richard ). It's much less common now.

            It would be interesting to know how that word became slang for a penis. I can understand how "cock" took on that meaning, since its original meaning is "male bird." This would be a good research topic for a cunning linguist.
