Question about renaming files

I know that you're not supposed to (read "allowed to") rename files that you upload, but I was wondering if there's any leeway.
I'm a stickler for trying to organise my own collection to the best of my ability, so I'm curious about whether or not it's acceptable to rename some uploads to correct wrong information. For example, a file might appear somewhere that reads "2 hot twinks fucking on the bed.mp4" and a little bit of research shows it to be a studio file originally titled "<STUDIO> -<Twink A> and <Twink B> Enjoy a Cheeky Afternoon.mp4"
Would renaming it be forbidden? As long as it conforms to exactly the same title as the actual source of the file I'd regard it as an improvement, and would make it easier for people to find what they're actually looking for, but I understand if that's a problem here. Obviously nobody should use it as an excuse to upload duplicates of what's already here. It just strikes me that there are so many duplicates floating around with various names that give no hint as to what the original file pertains to.
Thoughts? I rename a lot of files in my own collection to make them easier to find, but I wouldn't want to fall foul of the rules if I ever uploaded anything.

renaming files that you downloaded/collected/own or paid from any site is fine ...
[sometimes name are too long, contain character or coded name] ...
however re-posting them from here : [there is a rule]
it is clearly stated that coded title/file name is forbidden w/c breaks system searching ... -
renaming files is important and useful, you can re-seed torrent w/c has no longer seeder if you're file 100% matches ...

Please rename like this... accurate information is always preferable. Also, the more detail about site, actors, etc. in the description/comments the better, as far as I'm concerned.

as long as you labeled correctly and be-aware from renaming your file too long ...

Yep. My impression is that over the years files get moved around between so many different people on various sites that it's like a huge game of Chinese Whispers, and eventually you end up with files with names that bear nothing in common with their release titles.
Like I said, the idea is most definitely NOT to find a way around uploading duplicates. I'm becoming quite adept at recognising random uploads here that I've seen before and report them if I can verify that they're dupes. I just thing that if people can take a couple of minutes to research their uploads and name them properly before adding them to the site it would go some way to making things better for all users, even as the file propagates through other sites later on. Its so frustrating to see relatively new scenes uploaded with random titles when the real information is so easy to find.

@frostycab I'm failing to actually grasp what you're proposing, I think.
You might be proposing that members contact mods and suggest that a torrent's title could be renamed, providing reliable evidence, to make content more findable through the search page. To that I'd agree extensively.
But if you mean downloading a file, renaming it, creating a new torrent and re-uploading it, then to me it's a big no.
You see, the file name is of no importance at all here, as they are not indexed and you can't find torrents based on file names. Best case you can find a torrent based on the name of the torrent file, but not its content.
So it's only the title and description that need to be as accurate as possible. After a file is downloaded the user has absolute control over the name they might want it use without interferring with their ability to seed that file.

The search function does not look at individual filenames, only the torrent name. If a torrent is named "Hunky Vintage Videos," and it contains a file "Bruce Fuksalot," no search will find "Fuksalot" unless the uploader included that information in the torrent description.
There is still an uploading rule for torrents that have a collection of files that says, "The description must contain a list of all video files or titles including, by at least copy/paste the torrent’s file list." This rule has been around since the dawn of time (if not before) and was workable when uploads rarely had more than a small handful of file. Today, torrents (especially from fan sites) often have over a hundred files--nobody lists them, and nobody is sanctioned for this.

On the flip side, I've seen torrents with nondescript titles and/or descriptions but if you look at the filename it has decent to great details up to including studio/title/performers. Alas those don't show up on searches because the search engine doesn't index filenames.
Then there are those where some helpful commenters will identify the video and its performers, but again those details don't help with search.
