Uploading new vs. reseeding old

I have a video that I was going to upload but I found the identical video in the "dead" section (first posted here 452 weeks ago). I'd like to make it available again. Is it considered a duplicate if I post a new torrent? Or should I download the older torrent and point it to my file and make it available that way?
In the latter case, if I seed a previously-dead torrent, does that move it to the top of the torrents list so that everyone will see it again or does it remain buried?

DUPLICATE files are not allowed and will be removed. You are expected to run a search for duplicates prior to submitting a torrent. Duplicates may be accepted when part of a themed collection. A file is considered a duplicate if an existing torrent has the same format and similar size (<10% difference) and has at least one seeder. https://www.gaytorrent.ru/rules.php#102
However you can post your torrent if no one can revive the old one, seeding old torrent is pointless if there are no leechers unless someone requested for re-seed ... But be aware of others that can seed the old/dead ones and yours will consider duplicate ...

In addition only recycled [♺] and revive torrent can be on top including the original date being posted ... re-seeding old/dead torrent will remain buried ...

To be a duplicate (which would warrant the removal of your upload), the existing torrent must still be "live".
As a staffer, it is not uncommon for us to encounter a "Dupe Report" where the original torrent is dead. In those instances, the dead torrent is removed (deleted), and the new torrent is left alone. (For What Its Worth: the reporter does NOT get SBP awarded for finding these instances.)
In this case, I suggest you upload your torrent. If you REALLY want to be safe, reference the old torrent in your description and mention that it was dead on the date you uploaded yours!

I show as "online" for more hours in a day than most people can stay awake... that doesn't mean I'm in front of the keyboard for all that time.

Hmmm... in what way are we actually profiting off of other people's torrents? Remember: no torrent data is actually stored on our servers, we just put peers in touch with peers: share-givers, with share-takers. And we profit from this how?

OK, again with the finances. Same suggestion, same answer. NO ONE is making money here! Not even the Site Owner! Your (plural) donations offset his expenses, but come nowhere near what would be needed to cover them, much less make a profit!
But you do add another thing here... the idea of property. This is a sharing site. You didn't own what you shared to begin with, and once you started sharing it, you pretty much gave up any ownership rights.
So, I go back to my original point: You (and I) are just guests here, on this site. The Site Owner sees fit to allow me to admin some parts of this site, which I volunteer to do because I like porn and I like the idea of freely sharing it! There is a concept here that @F46660T seems to be clinging to that I feel is worth addressing: ownership
As I alluded to above, there IS NO ownership here. When you upload a torrent, you are agreeing to share it! Once shared, what those people do with it is up to them! They can re-share it on other sites, they can masturbate to it until their penis falls off, they can delete it as a mistaken download... all their own purview!
As I read through @F46660T 's rantings, I get the notion that he expected that the deletion of his account would also delete all of the torrents he uploaded (I don't know, maybe he even thought it would delete all of the torrents he DOWNLOADED too?) Anyway, that doesn't happen. Once a torrent becomes active on the site, it generally remains active so long as someone actively seeds it. "Ownership" ends as soon as the first leecher completes the first successful snatch and becomes a seeder! It is then "community property" as-it-were.
For the record, some torrents live and die (definition of a dead torrent: 0 seeders, 0 leechers) within weeks (even days!), others seem to go on forever! There are some torrents (live torrents!) on here that date from the 2006 re-boot of the site! It all depends on the tastes and desires of the user community!
