I used to live in Queensland Australia, and had to make many very long car journeys. We're talking trips of like 4000 km over 7 days. Usually once every month, up and down the pacific coast coast, or driving across the bush into the northern territory, alice springs and remote places like that.

When I was 18 or 19 I'd think nothing of driving from the northeast to Florida to visit family here and there. I'd usually drive straight through, pulling over to nap when needed.
