Johnathan Perkins is such a lovely person.

This is the same guy who, in April 2011, committed a hate crime hoax by claiming he was assaulted and racially profiled by campus police. After the university and local police found it was all bullshit, he admitted he made it up.

I agree it's kinda douchey for him to wish Clarence Thomas death.

However, to your second point, that's an oversimplification of what happened at UVA. In all likelihood, Perkins was pressured by the FBI to recant his story (during an interrogation that they allowed the accused police officers to participate in) and threatened to continue to contact his friends, family, and his employer law firm after he graduated. Basically, they presented him with two options: (1) recant and it all goes away, or (2) we will open a civil rights violation investigation and pester everyone around you, including your employer, until we turn you into a pariah.

And the UVA intimated that it would oppose his Bar Fitness (the investigation done on all lawyers prior to them being allowed to practice after graduation) if he didn't recant.

He was tried by the school's Honor Committee in closed session, and they determined that he hadn't done anything wrong, which tells me that there was a lot of evidence that the public didn't get to see.

This is yet another example of our hyper-partisan political environment getting out of hand.

Wanting someone dead because of their political views is despicable.

Personally, I hope Clarence Thomas (and any other Justice of the Supreme Court) dies the same way RBG did - at the natural end of a long and historically significant lifetime: revered by some, reviled by others, but as an honorable public servant who did their part.

Over the years, we have seen plenty of people fake hate crimes and sex crimes. I have posted about some of them. Search for HOAX.

People frequently fake hate and sex crimes to "draw attention to" whatever their cause is, which is what he admitted to.

For equalities sake, I think it only fair for @raphjd to go thru Twitter right now and see some of the things that conservatives are saying about Nancy Pelosi and how they hope she dies after her COVID test came up positive.

Liberalism doesn't have a monopoly on stupid assholes.

I'm on Twitter and to be honest, I haven't seen many but maybe that's due to who I follow.

I have seen that the ones on the right have no power compared to the ones on the left.
